I like it! I think it may keep that little girl in me from being so illusive. I have been painting again for about a month. The concept was paint ugly paintings , taking the pressure off. However because we share our work once a week I am beginning to loose that child as I compare my work with others who are prettier. The pressure is back! Ugh!!! I am still enjoying the painting and have no intention of ever giving it up but that initial child like quality is disappearing. I want her back❤️ Are you a philosopher by profession? I need to set up a sacred space for my painting time. Thank you so much!
Doina, I did some research and “light language” could be considered a variation of asemic. Words are just pointers to the truth and very dependent upon interpretation. Probably, the clearest identifier for me, is that this language/art/markmaking comes through you as you. It’s representative of your individualized expression. Each of us, should create our own definitions to meet our needs. I hope that makes sense!
Hi! What are the differences/similarities between Light Language writing and asemic writing, in your opinion? What about "spiritual asemic writing"? Thank you!
its basically a calligraphy based from of glossolalia (Pentecostal church like "speaking in tongues") that people who are spiritual relay onto the act they are doing (asemic/glossolalia). There is no basis that this is light language, its more akin to what is sigil making in terms of Austin Osman Spare and chaos magick and esoterica mixed with automatic writing and automatic drawing rather than the new term of "light language".
as a practitioner of asemic writing i must tell you that you have aligned an idea of spirituality with something by its very name is "meaningless writing". with a lot of things, people who dont understand it or cannot accept that writing asemically is no different than talking in glossolalia. its nonsense. please do not push spiritual things onto it. it makes a mockery of its origins and non-signification of any relevant fact. just because you want it to be spiritual, doesnt mean it is. also, you clearly have no idea where asemic writing stemmed from if you think the lined and calligraphy based style is full of judgement. do some research and see that its still about the process of letting go, just like your way. shapes can still be based in a line if they so wish to be. to add to this, what you are doing is teach the exploration of mark-making rather than what asemic writing is. its good to bring out the child and have a play and let loose. but dont call it what it isnt. call it what it is. its freeform mark making.
Hey, thanks for your thoughtful comment! It’s clear you’re really passionate about asemic writing-and I get it! When something resonates with us deeply, it’s easy to feel protective of its "true" essence. But isn’t that kind of the fun of it? We can both be making non-signifying marks, and somehow we’ve still found ways to interpret and layer meaning onto the process. For me, the marks aren’t just meaningless squiggles-they’re like breadcrumbs leading us back to reveal our unique Creative DNA. If someone else sees them as "freeform mark-making," that’s fine too! But calling them "just nonsense" kind of feels like missing the point of freedom altogether. At the end of the day, it’s not about proving who’s right or what’s "real" asemic writing-it’s about how the process makes you feel. And hey, if there’s room in the creative sandbox for your way and mine, isn’t that the point of play? 😉 Thanks again for sharing-I always appreciate hearing from fellow explorers!
Thank you i will try the music

I'm not familiar with the term "Light Language." Can you define? Is it a form of channeling?
