I drive a 2006 vstar 1100 Silverado. Bought a few years ago with 1700 miles now has 26000 miles. Total repairs needed. 2 tires and 1 light bulb. Very reliable and fun machine. There have been known issues with the starter clutch on these but if you remember to never ever rev the throttle with the enhancer (choke) engaged the starter will be fine.
It's hugely under powered, hates corners and has zero power in the mid range. Having said that, it's ridiculously comfortable and will just go and go and go, just replace the boards with highway pegs and it'll make cornering a whole lot easier.
