You're absolute right, every hour work in RL is best gold farm. But that is a bit a bloody calculation since you should do this work in addition to normal work. Otherwise you spend money you would and maybe should use in RL im gw2, for me that mixed up fantasy and real world too much😂 I just spend couple of euros for some store qol items or skins with RL since I have enough, but never ever would buy gold for RL money to buy gear or legendarys. Those are somehow not "legendary" anymore them just buying those within a minute 😂 But over all, Arenanet did a great job on this economy. There does not really drop gold while slaying enemies in the open world is one of key elements imho. And things like 100 mystic/icy runestones (=100g flat) per legendary which are costs you cannot avoid are pretty good to take out enough money out of the game. With transaction fees and listing prices in the trading post, that is really good balance with total income of gold into the ecosystem. Pretty much enjoy it.
I totally get your point. I just wanted to raise that argument that NO ingame gold farm will get close to the potential of swiping your credit card! And I would never advocate for spending money on games if you cant spare a dime! Furthermore, I can just second your statement regarding the prestige, as it is way more satisfiying to earn something in game than to spend IRL money to get it in seconds. The economy in GW2 is fascinating to me for that reason, because even after 12 years it is still quite stable and probably will be for quite some time to come!
When I was younger I used to deliver food and spend a little of my pay to buy gems. So much more effective to spend that time working one hour than farming for 10 hours in game and not having fun. Great video Syrma, and I like you tell the truth!
Aren't some of those benchmarks flat out wrong? 40 gold per hour is super achievable on regular farming, more if you have already streamlined the thing we know to do that isn't always apparent.
I do admit that the numbers for perfect optimised farms may be higher, BUT the average player won't achieve them and most of the time the farms you talk about are not endlessly doable (not 24/7). Furthermore the point of the video was not to give exact numbers but to compare the general scale that one can achieve with active farming. And its not in the same ballpark as the methods mentioned in the video even if you reach more than 40g/hour. I hope you get my point :)
@@SyrmaGaming Suggesting people to get good at a game to maximize their goal per hour is underwhelming, as it's similar to advising how to get rich in real life by saying the first step is to have a rich dad, then work very hard, and be very lucky. This provides no real value to people who are genuinely seeking helpful recommendations. The numbers for perfectly optimized farms may be higher, but you don't need perfect optimization, just fairly aligned. Running 3 metas in a row is a great source of gold, and a few activities to fill the hour gives you more than 25g+. Guild Wars 2 has a 24h cycle, so Meta events rotate endlessly. You can easily take a small hand-picked set of Metas and events or content (that are repetable) and do them over and over. Now, to say "The average player won't achieve them" is an overstatement. While it's true that the average player won't perform these activities, some players can improve their gold per hour by engaging in the right content at the right time, with the right gear and skills. However, as more "easy" options are introduced, the complexity increases, making what was once simple and profitable now more challenging. This is why the statistics remain consistent over the years, with a similar proportion of players remaining unaware or uninterested in optimizing their gameplay for maximum profit. Why? Because gradually turning a game into a second job is boring. Personally, I'm quite accomplished in the game as in Raw Gold value items and gold per se-I own many infusions, including some of the most expensive ones like two Echoes of the Dragonvoid-yet I still don't do "perfect optimised farms" as you say to stay rich. That's not the true essence of the "gold true-endgame" game anyway. Oh and suggesting the pay-to-win aspect as a good source of gold and "riches" is dumb, absurd, obscene, and unhealthy to say the least. An awful answer, I might say. It just suggests people to get good at the game. Because it is obvious that they should get good at the game to maximize their gold per hour. Hope it provided you some vision and another point of view. cheers.
@@SyrmaGaming pretty sure fishing has no drop off and can rate almost double what you're averaging. Not a bad 'cba + podcast' gold earning method for those with time, or those who strictly play to make legies or whatever. But yeah, money makes money in GW2 as anywhere else. 2k gold seems logically to be the point where you can really start raking in money for doing a few clicks without damaging your regular gameplay and smaller pseudo-afk (crafting) gold earning options that can require a bit of liquid funds from time to time.

the best money making method I've found is making and selling gen 3 legendary weapons, easy 2k gold every 2 weeks with less than 4hours of play time a day.

You can sign up as a 5 player team in the pvp UI. Normally currently, just by participating you get 5 to 10g in a daily AT and 25g in a monthly AT (because there are not that many teams playing). Here you can get some more information: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Automated_Tournaments
