Kinda makes sense because the dude likes to read, so he read about several characters and their fighting style and adopted their moves.
Or he simply consumed a canned knowledge of different fighting styles then combined them all together. It's like the canned knowledge that the traveler consumed in order to learn a new fighting style.

Alhaitham's Multiple Damaging Mirrors are similar to Yelans Multiple Damaging Threads,
while his Mirror Stacks is similar to Ningguang's Crystal Stacks. And his large Dendro Chamber is like Nahida's Dome.

@@ilikenewmeta9717 That's were you are wrong. Ppl been saying Haitham has the same gameplay as keqing which is completely untrue. Their kits are not the same and their gameplay are absolutely nothing alike.
The only similarity is the actual E teleporting thing but even with that it's a different mechanic since Haitham's E is a rush and not a teleport. Both things don't have the same pro and cons.
While in Yelan's case her gameplay is the same as Xinqiu, EQ and then leave field to deal off field damages. Same ult and Xinqiu is even better because he applies more water than Yelan.
@@marguaxb8809 Yelan and Xinqiu is good in their own way. Xinqiu can offer more hydro application and other useful utilities such as damage reduction and a bit of interruption resistance, while Yelan provides more off-field dmg and also buffs the dmg of whoever is on-field thanks to her passive. But another factor that makes people lean towards Xinqiu more is that he's a 4*, meaning it's easy to get his constellations. However, that still doesn't take away the fact that Yelan has some busted dmg even at C0.
Alhaitham is the closest thing we've got to a playable mirror maiden.
What I like about Alhaitham is that he doesn’t need to use his skill twice unlike Keqing, and if the skill is still on cool-down we are able to charge attack or plunge until we get a mirror from his passive, not that it will happen if managed properly
I usually look down then aim his skill a bit higher so that my Alhaitam will do plunge even tho he's still on the ground
but u know the stack decreases a lil bit faster but i like the style of rainsword attack with the plunge combo thus its not affecting my rotation anyway
But it is cooler to throw a dagger and teleport whenever you want, kinda like Minato.
I usually do it like this:
Throw dagger up - Q skill - just before the final slash, teleport - plunge.
I feel like I'm both Cloud and Minato, two characters that I find really cool

@@kevinvalencia7982 it’s just my preference and idk who is cloud and minato. I don’t really like how we have to use it twice cuz it feels like it’s a lil slower than just charging straight in. I like a more fast pace and Alhaitham just does it faster than Keqing. And I also like the extra attacks the mirror gives us
@@Sxin209 oh I was actually talking about Minato in Naruto (father of the MC) and Cloud (Final fantasy 7). Well it's true that it is faster to insta teleport, I just like how cool it is to teleport using a dagger as your teleportation point.
it makes a lot of sense to me that alhaitham would be the type to utilise many different styles of combat. it fits his character really well
People make such a big deal of it for no reason, there are very, very few characters with completely unique animations, like Nahida for example. Most characters have very similar or even same NA and CA animations, (catalyst users I think are the most unique here).
Ganyu and Ayato's Q have literally the same level of similarity as Alhaitham and Keqing, but no one is complaining about them...

Yeah, I don't get all the criticism or comparisons he's getting with Keqing. Yes, their attacks might be similar but it's literally nothing new. And it's like you said: there are plenty of other characters who share similar attacks as another, so the attention with Alhaitham and Keqing is a bit of a buzz kill. AS IF this hadn't happened before already 🙄

@@sneakretster its not really practical to switch into your crossbow in the middle of fights without reloading and... Youre playing genshin, literally nothing in genshin is realistic. I dont want peak anime styles like xiao or raiden or hu tao polearm. The best polearm style is with Yunjin and yaoyao, it has rhythm, and they give the feel like their movements came from an existing martial arts in Li Yue and not some confused boy who carries a stick and doesnt know what to do with it.

Ayato N3 is a jab with the hilt of his blade, Alhaitham N2 is a reverse grip stab. Also, there is a posture difference between Ayato N2 and Alhaitham N1 that honestly makes a lotta difference. Look at the free hand. Ayato's hand goes behind his back, making him look more proper and even well trained, while Alhaitham is more open with his free hand just kinda vibing
I like to believe that the reason his attacks are similar to Ayato and Eula is because the Lawrence lineage and the Kamisato family are well known figures in Teyvat, so Alhaitham has most likely read up on their style. Reverse grip also really isn't a very practical style in real combat, so maybe Alhaitham performs his charged and N2 attacks with a reverse grip sword because he learned to fight through reading

You'll notice how just about every other character moves their non-sword hand in some kind of way. however, with our lazy feeble scholar boi, he keeps his non-sword hand down at his side during his normal attack.

You forgot the parts where when his attacks are infused with dendro he also has attacks that are kid of like budget Xingqiu and Xiangling. With a single rain of swords and at least one rotation of a spinning Dendro blade.
Not to mention the fact that he's a duel wielder, with one of his swords being a physical manifestation of his element, much like Tartaglia's skill. Instead of two.
If anything you should be happy to pull him because you got the character that has styles from all the cool characters. I’m glad I got him❤

Because it’s a combination of other characters moves, it’s actually pretty cool. Also makes sense : "This move is strong… I should use it" since he reads a lot, and probably read about them.

Well, a typical fandom bruh moment that happens with almost every new 5 star. And the later the character is, the harder the hate, but then their banner goes away, and haters start crying for a rerun, cause "no, wait, the char is cool, it seems". Saying hi to Kazuha release, lol. (no hate towards video autor, if it was just for comperison of his animation with others, cause the video itself seems rather neutral to me, honestly, I cant tell, if thats accusation of devs "being lazy again").
Meanwhile, human anatomy that will allow only for so much freedom of body movement, when it comes to weapons that u weild, aside from catalists, cause pure magic: allow me to introduce myself.
Devs already going out of their ways by adding unique personal weapons, just to avoid as much copypaste as there could be in normal attacks animation. Dual blades of Alhaitham, Itto's club, Candace shield, heck, look at Mika's everything and Dehya's burst (if u know, u know).
Also, may sound like an excuse, idk, but in genshin a style, or a school of weapon art exists on numerous occasions. Favonius sword style. Guhua sword and spear, Xingqiu and Hu Tao using them (if u look closely, some moves are very similar despite being used with different weapons). Kamisato art. Im sure there are a lot more named old "classic" styles that some characters are using, cause they've had proper training in fighting and not just half selftaught, half picked some from weapon weilding style. What Im trying to say here, is that, I doubt Alhaitham've ever had proper training, but he is crazy smart, so he could just pick some bits from all over the fighting arts, that he could find about and piece them together in the style that comfortable for him and his weapon of choice.
And regarding his overall gameplay, the more I play him the less he feels like dendro Keqing, like, they look similar yes, but the way u supposed to manage his mirrors that give him dendro infusion, and not just the fact that u used E for it, makes it feel completely different. I had my conserns that I will be bored of Alhaitham preaty fast, just like I've never really used Keqing, because of her boring playstyle for my taste, but he did not dissapoint me, Im having so much fun with him, that I even pulled his signature, when I wasnt really planning of doing so.
I think this fits Al Haitham's personality, he observed other people's (And read Jojo's bizzare) and connected everything to each other.

I'm going to assume that Alhaitham simply studied various fighting styles, which included the school of swordsmenship of Inazuma, minus the iado technique that can clearly be seen with Ayaka's. He is a scholar, after all, and academics are only one part of the neverending pursuit of knowledge. Until the Akasha System was shut down by the end of the Dendro Archon Quest by Nahida, Alhaitham very much consumed a large number of information that concerened different swordsmenship styles, along with some Canned Knowledge. If anything, the guy is an example of how knowledge is power and those who know how to use it can gain favorable results.
Or more like a recurring events to every genshin characters' movesets

Genshin has many aspects about it thats similar to different games. Like the floating weapon animations from Nier Automata and the stamina system from BoW. Noelle actually straight up copies 2B’s Greatsword moveset from Nier actually. Even the sheathing animation is the same-

Al haitaham is a stylish and upgraded version of keqing
ok idk y i wrote this essay, no one gonna read it all
differences: keqing skill has 2 parts, the one where she chooses a location to teleport, and one where she actually teleports. alhaitham teleports instantly. keqing is just pure electro infusion while alhaitham has a whole mirror mechanic that deals extra damage. keqing cannot attack enmies while performing her burst, alhaitham can. keqing has a fixed amount of slashes, alhaitham's slashes and its damage depends on his mirrors and can grant mirrors too. if keqing's infusion runs out the only way to infuse again is her skill, with alhaitham you can gain mirrors from his plunge and charge atks, skill, and even burst, so u will never run out of mirrors if u play him properly. in conclusion, alhaitham is NOT dendro keqing.
That's why some of his movement reminds me of something

Actually, if you didnt notice, character's attack animations--although may not be unique to each own--reflect the character itself. Xingiu being graceful with martial arts stances because he is a Guhua disciple, Yun Jin and Nilou with their dancing styles, Ayaka and Ayato with their own flavors of Kamisato Art--quick and precise, Childe being "awkward" with bow, Collei wobbling because she lacked the body strength bcoz of Eleazar, and Alhaitham being knowledgeable, probably used canned knowledge to master some fighting styles and fit them according to his own style. It doesnt reflect hoyo being lazy or running out of ideas, but rather, Alhaitham being as efficient he is. People are just being short-sighted.
