Won't treat them all some already sol. I need to leave some for those who want to learn or treat themselves but i will treat some :). Yes is called honey matrix because it has honey colour transparent layer of silica and potch. thank you for the question Danny
Beautiful pieces of matrix opals, id like to see stone 3 or 4 be treated the most. All very interesting chunks, I've never worked on matrix opal but I always love to look at it because it's always so colorful.
Thank you Carlyn 3 or 4 seems to be choice so far I am swinging towards 2 but will do what the community wants . 2 doesn't show on the video what it has very well its huge full oof red and orange specs. They are all good though. Cant wait to see your sunstone :)
Thank you for the video. Phil is awesome with his matrix treatments. Seen some of Don Pulitzer's as well.He is wonderful with it too. I cant wait to see the results of these, when you treat them. I do hope you will record the process for us. It would be great to see. 😊
Thank You Nancy. Yes I Love Pulitzer Channel should have mentioned him as well. I will sure do record the treatment just need to pick a big piece and i have too many. I did one already here ua-cam.com/video/4o-prUOs0_o/v-deo.htmlsi=0GgHPtR4Tp8ZMP1s
Nice haul you’ve got there 😊 🌈 💎…. I recon treat stone 4 (omg looks like it’ll be stunning) and maybe take a cross section of stone one to test treat also… In my experience treating honey matrix I’ve found that some treat well, but the really ‘hard/shiny pieces turn out quite blotchy with treatment and they wld have been better just to cab and polish as is.
great comment Ty thank you so much. Intuitively I thought of leaving Honey Matrix as is. Glad you confirmed that. I couldn't imagine that honey glaze with colour looking any good carbonised. Stone 4 seems to be very popular should treat amazingly well.
G’day mate, I’m curious about stones 2 and 4. 2 to see what it treats like, and, 4 because I caught a glimpse of the light blue I like. Great looking matrix parcel, thanks for sharing. 🤪👍
Hey Phil thank you. 2 I am very curious about as it has orange specs right through the entire stone. It doesn't show well on the vid. 3 did you see the little piece it came off it it was test treated so there is some idea how it would treat. I know the blue you mean it is quite unique if it comes through on the dark . Appreciate you watching awesome
@@theopalmills yeah stone 4 is the most requested so far greens and blues stone 3 has this strange blue amongst the pin fire colours it is interesting but we already know how it would treat tx Phil I might be slicing stone 4 and treating so watch this space
I saw one person make all their shapes first before they treated it. He said it was because you would have to treat it again if you cut after treatment. I really like the first one... The honey matrix is amazing...
@@ThatOpalGuy yeah, because you cut through the treatment and must retreat...that stuff he's got is thick... I couldn't imagine holding something like that...
thank you. You definitely cut it first into slices and some shapes , i don't know if you can get away with just one treatment well maybe with experience ? Personally i test treat and then treat again and those in their 80's that sell me opal thought me that way. Would love to be able just to treat once and get best results. Although with the right set up it is easy enough to treat.
I have treated honey matrix and I advise against it. Highly prone to cracking. Cut your cabs like normal opals into the colour bars. If you have good matrix you will easily identify it. I have a video.
Thank you Will number 4 is the most popular I think my fav is 2 but i can see the oranges and reds which don't show as well on Vid. Might have to slice 4 and treat it , still waiting for more comments to decide
Treat them all. I’m curious how similar or different they look!!!! Honey Matrix Opal? Is it called that for the color of the potch?

Love all of them, would treat #1 and a few random pieces of the bag to show what someone might get if you sold the whole bag.
Thank you that's a good idea with few random pieces
I would try the three ounce piece first.
thank you Don

Really nice pieces #2..😂 Thanks for sharing
Both Phil at opal mills and Don at pulitzer opal say that is the best way.
