I'm convinced that it's not Mariah's fault at this point when it comes to her songs being successful. This is a beautiful song, catchy, and memorable. The times truly have changed, cuz in 2005 this song would've done fine. It should've done fine when it was released, but the great thing with Mariah is she still is part of pop culture. She could still have more #1's as far as I'm concerned.

this was more of an unfortunate circumstance. You can have the greatest song in the world, but if nobody knows about it then it won't go far. Mariah's label went out of business, they promised to promote it, then were absorbed back into the parent company. Her manager dropped the ball and when Mariah emerged she had no promo tour set to do. The song died and there wasn't any promo for her album either.

***** She's flipped from chest to whistle quite a few times, Love Takes Time, Someday, To The Floor, And You Don't Remember, Dreamlover Def Mix. She also did it in the 2013 impromptu TAOLG performance. This and Vanishing SNL rehearsal are probably the most impressive though :)
And You Don't Remember she doesnt do it from one continous belt. She sings "My" and then whistles "Heart." To The Floor she does a few chirps at the end, but not a continuous belt. Someday she starts from a lower note then blasts through the end of "Day", but it's different than this because this was a belt from her head voice and then she went straight into whistle. Love Takes Time, the studio version she has the whistle in the background, and live she would start at a lower note then go into whistle, but not do it straight from belting like she did here. Most of her very early whistles live that is how she did them. She started low and went high. This is the first time that she has EVER belted a long note in her head voice and then switched into whistle without pausing or breaking the belt to switch.

I wonder also, why she doesn't promote this song at all, especially the Trey Songz remix. It's a shame not to promote either version because it's a really good song. I think she should perform the one with him on talk shows like Ellen or the View, etc.. cuz he's "hot" right now also. Take advantage of it.
C Fer i hear this alot from diff people, not just w/ this song but also from records of days gone by. It's the job of the label to properly promote the singles. Not hers, even though she does do her own promo..management is supposed to do that. There have been off the top of my head a good 30 obscure songs that never got pushed by her past label/present label that easily would have been massive hits, they are better than the songs that went to #1.
lashonda collins I know it's their job and yeah, there are many of those in her catalog but, you're mistaken. It's also her job. She must promote this song and other songs with performances. It's not even debatable.
It's 100% necessary if she wants more sales. If she doesn't , then that's a different story.

I think though, that in her case, she has at least a bit more more clout than other artists, mostly because of her legacy and also beause of her co-writing and co-production of each song. I think she even owns the rights to her songs.,Not sure about that though. She's prob. more focused on finishing the album right now, but it's a shame to not promote this song with some performances, espcially the remix. Who knows, maybe she still will.
