The one and only time I played guitar on LSD I was at my peak and I was clean, constantly shifting scales, keys and what not.
I felt like I was playing my emotions.

“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves ...Here's Tom with the Weather.”

I've definitly tripped on weed once, i was listening to Tame Impala's Lonerism just was completely gone into my own space universe. i turned the lights out in my room and i saw stars moving and flexing to the beat of each song. I tripped so hard one time i went blind and when my vision came back i looked in the clear blue sky and i saw purple flowers in the sky purple lines flowing on the road like a water stream. You can definitly trip on weed bro.

In the proper setting, psychedelic use isn't abusive. And most psychedelics are physically harmless. And there are many reasons and motivations for taking them, not just making good music or freeing the mind. They can also help you to understand the mind and how it really works if you focus on that- they lend themselves to any experience really.

To me, THE Music that resonates with the realms of the psychedelia comes from a late Italian medical doctor called Gianluigi Gasparetti.

Psychedelics augment/overload all perceptions but this is particularly true for music, which already possesses great emotional sway. This has not been stressed nearly enough in regard to potential treatment therapies.

I am 54 years old and I have been smoking marijuana regularly and doing psychedelics like psilocybin mushrooms and occasionally LSD for over 40 years now and the only real issue or difficulty that I have ever had and still tend to have with psychedelics is not the psychological effects that they induce, but the somewhat uncomfortable physical sensations, especially now that I am older, that are always gonna be an inevitable part of the coming up to the peak of the whole trip like the nausea, body rushes, heart pounding harder, elevated blood pressure, sweating, etc., which could probably be alleviated by taking a Valium or a Xanax, perhaps, but then again I've also always felt that if I were to do that it might somehow also inadvertently abort the actual trip itself as well, so I'm sort of at a loss as far as what would be a viable solution. Any sincere, intelligent and reasonably coherent suggestions would be gratefully appreciated, folks...✌

As a composer, poet & musician I can attest to the bond music, magic & the psychedelic experience, even long after the trips. The creative aspects musically & reveal sacred ties to both music for the creator & the listener. These plant medicines, are sacred, healing technologies, and have big part in traditional rites by or even as the astonishing sense of a mystical state of Being, one gets from these entanglements & Ecstasy of new perspectives of the ranges of Consciousness known as a "Trip". Just subjective empirical experience is everything, even without a Shamanic culture paradigm, the mystical feelings get through. Ah...likely ya'll know this shiz, but for those......
The affect of these boundary dissolving effects such as in vogue level of materialism threaten establishment values, paraded with the other collective & personal post-modern psychosis caused by hang overs from the dark ages. A time where even natural sciences such as Cosmology & Physics were long suppressed by the "the Roman Church", & such is still carried out by all the big 3 & most other Male dominated, Paternalistic, hierarchical religions (despite the likelihood that psychedelics are likely inspiration for most philosophies), if only in their early sprouts. Even LSD is made from Ergot, a kind of mold found in Rye grains, thus are the likely fact that when people wound up high in medieval times, surely thought to be possessed or mad in some fashion. Tim used to say...'LSD sometimes causes extreme fear & psychosis in those whom have never taken it...'
The drugs do not make you a visionary, they allow visions in via a short cut, so you can use these creative & spiritual growth, & personal healing, after, long after the experiences. When done with the safe, pure medicine and a correct, effective dose in a session with a Shaman-like therapist, or an able assistant, they are very safe. Then one can be guided (often this ain't the case & that is fate) know how to let go & not fight the process. Some people should not probably not take them, as the same with any medicine or 'drug', though I am speaking about plants, all of which all should be legal... & not able to be patented, outside 1 exception LSD 25.
DMT is found in many plants world-wide, is also synthesized & is the most the most natural & profound psychedelic voyage, as it is produced in the Pineal gland throughout our life & huge doses released at death (Di-Menthol-Triptymine) & is in found in 1 of the 2 plants that make up Ayahuasca. One is an M.A.O inhibitor allowing DMT to be taken orally, (as the body breaks it down quickly in the stomach, as our bodies produce DMT in mass, in the Pineal gland). This is "historically known" to be a visionary ritual healing Shamanic tradition in the Amazon for over 2500 years (prehistoric dates would be ancient), as is Psilocybin found in mushrooms is used in the same fashion in Mexico to this day also along with Mescaline for cacti in the desert southwest Native Americans.
This entheo-botany holds tremendous tools in psychological treatment, self-actualization, to Ascension. To some they're party drugs only & yet they hold so much more as well, simply not explored, in a quiet, dark setting. It should be a free mind, so long as you ain't shooting people... Sanskrit early writings speak of Soma (no not as in Brave New World, by Huxley, which is an awesome piece of literature) as some medium allowing visionary states. Some plants cause altered States' yet this doesn't make them a psychedelic, they may be a delirium & cause rather disturbing trips....

both MDMA and cannabis have psychedelic properties. I sometimes get open eye visuals on both, almost always on MDMA and even stronger on MDA. I have only experienced a rough MDMA comedown once and that was after a night of bingeing. Visuals are not the only part to the psychedelic experience though. I recommend watching "the 5 levels of the psychedelic experience" by Alexander Filipe according to the vaults of Erowid. Peace.

Psychedelic experiences are similar to being in a dreamlike state, but it's really more like the opposite of a dream.
When your tripping you consciously perceive everything as strange when the world isn't unusual at all, while when dreaming you later wake up and realise just how strange things were.
Scientist still don't know why we sleep, let alone dream.

my opinion toward listening to dubstep for awhile not on drugs makes me feel souless; therefore, i cant appreciate where the music industry is heading. rock n roll is where its at for me.

MDMA is a psychedelic. Not on the same level as others, but it is. If you properly dose MDMA and you take clean MDMA there is almost no comedown at all. Haven't used MDMA but a few times but it was the one Psyche that changed my life. I love em all, even though DMT scares the shit out of me lol.

LESTER BANGS ??!?! l learned about him in a movie called ''Almost Famous'' ! DMT would go with 'Shpongle'! Never tried DMT before, but l _know_ l can hear it in Shpongle !!!! You DON'T need no drugs! Just Carbon Based Lifeforms!!!

That 120bpm as the fetal heartbeat insight was the only valuable information of this video. When taken with the apocryphal notion that DMT floods the system at birth and death, makes the insight for me.

You don't take psychedelics to soothe your soul. The musical insight and understanding of complexity gained from psychedelics, as well as the greatly heightened psychedelic creativity pushing beyond the boundaries of our pre-conceived notions or "proper music", can't ever be fully replicated in a sober state of mind.
There is a reason for why psychedelic music (like the majority of popular rock in the late 60's) is almost always produced as a result of drug use (usually LSD or weed).

YES. You got me spot on. On a side note, I have decided today I am going to cut back, a lot, as in almost quit. It is a sad day today, but I just cannot continue in my current environmental. :(

Now this is absolutely incorrect, about being too lazy to learn an instrument. I'm personally not too fond of electronic music, but it does indeed attract a large crowd that involves a lot of the music with drugs. And yeah it doesn't have strings or keys but whatever they use is an instrument within itself. And Tim Presley is an incredibly realistic dude and is aware of these things. He may come across incorrect or wrong in some people's mind, but he knows what he's talking about.
But yes your argument is valid, about involving more "psychedelic" musicians.

    Interesting film.
Some good modern acts for spinning your head out with their tripped out sounds are the likes of Fourtet, Flying Lotus, Autectre, Aphex Twin, EL-P, Death Grips,
    Amon Tobin, Burial, Allflaws

I think the comedown depends on a person and how pure the MDMA was. Of course the visuals aren't the only effect of these substances but it's the most noticeable effect. The visuals have always been almost like sign and symbol of psychedelics. I've seen the '5 levels of the psychedelic experience' and it's a good watch. Would recommend it for everybody who has interest in psychedelia. Thanks for a great comment, peace and far out!
