Something I think that should be mentioned with regard to expensiveness, a lot of the chapters do go on sale a lot, so that cost can be cut down dramatically. Not to mention they recently started bundling a lot of older chapters together so you can get most of the original content for not a lot of dough.
Also my top tip for learning beginners is; just experiment! Understand what you enjoy, and be sure to acknowledge where you can improve. This game is not easy to learn by any means, but once you do, it feels as natural as breathing.

The ps store prices would beg to differ,
Some of them haven't more than 35% discount since 2022 Halloween,
Even if they have discounts, you'd still have to pay something among the lines of like 60$ to buy licensed content, if it all was on 50% discount,
Mind u these are all perks that the player cannot experience through Normal grind since the shrine of secrets is a scam.
This game is so unfriendly to new players.
& I'm saying this because I love it & wish my friends could plant their feet & start grinding & enjoying, instead of being bombarded with pay to win mechanics.

The cells are probably the best way to go for dlc content you only need 12,500 for all the dlc killers others can be purchased with player progression currencies and there is a bundle for like 50 bucks for 13000 cells so I feel it's a good deal but don't know about survivors

I played the game when it first came out... then I had a long long break and started like "new" because game now is not the game I knew back then.
I'm now 300 hours in again and I love it like back then. It's fun and the best advice for new players: It's just a game so handle it like that! World don't ends because you lose... have fun and move on

After coaching a few friends. The most successful route for a new player is to play Feng until you get enough Iri shards to purchase Kate.
Technician, albeit a bad perk, in vital to new players because it allows them to not worry about getting screwed over by missing skill checks on gens. Yes, it does regress it more BUT the upside is they get more exposure to skill checks and it keeps them relatively safe.
Not only that, they get access to Lithe and Alert which will help them immensely.
They can prestiege Feng, maybe even up to 3 times if they get a lot of BP. And by the time they earn enough shards they'll be able purchase Kate. Kate is obviously to get windows.
This is also a very simple way to teach prestiege mechanics, which is a core feature.
After that, prestiegeing Dwight, Meg, Jake and Claudette(my preferred order) specifically for Bond, Leader, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Iron Will, Botany and Empathy.
After that, they will have a core build if Lithe/Sprint Burst, Windows, Bond and Botany.
If they struggle to simply survive then they run Iron Will, Botany, Selfcare and Alert.
If they are good at looping, Sprint Burst/Lithe, Windows, Adrenaline and Resilience.
If they aren't a good looper but good at altruism, We'll Make It, Empathy, Sprint Burst and Adrenaline/Windows.
The only thing is working their way to get extremely good/vital characters like David(Dead Hard), Zarina(Off The Record), Renato(Background Player), etc.
If they are willing to cough up money I cannot stress enough that the bundles they offer in store are actually kind of good.
Avoid buying individual characters for Auric Cells. You can get both killer and survivor if you buy the chapter for a few extra dollars. I know money can be hard to comeby, but trust me...buying every character individually is not a smart idea.
Also *AVOID THE SHRINE OF SECRETS*!!!!! I cannot stress that enough.
The only exception is the shrine is selling perks like Corrupt Intervention, Barbecue and Chilli, Deadlock, Pain Resonance, or any other *extremely* strong perk that is tied behind a licensed character.
    > Yes, I'm aware that Pain Res and Corrupt aren't licensed.

The only thing i'm thinking about is if it's worth it to buy the golden edition, witch have 16 killers, extra survivors and some perks, or i should go for the standard version, unlock whatever is free and then to buy the dlc packs...

I recently started playing it too it’s been a month…and I have to be honest it’s the most captivating game I have played cause I’ve mostly played calm/peaceful games. I have to admit playing DBD Its either a fun gameplay or a rage quit type of moment gameplay…tunnellers and teammates who don’t help out are a pain in the ass but however the game has pulled me in and I will definitely be spending some coin 😋😋

Dbd is unique, with all the downsides that come with. Since, to learn dbd, you MUST play or watch it. And god, it takes time.
Here are a few tips: otzdarva has a guide on which characters to buy. Play customs with friends, my god, if you can, DO IT. Survivor is harder since its uncoordinised, use info perks. Buy 1 dlc before starting (please make sure its a licensed chapter), i'd recommend the first RE chapter. Last but not least, be nice, be inclusiv. The game is hard, make it fun

My tip for new survivors is to run a perk build that has: one awareness perk, one objective perk, one perk to help in chase and a healing perk. If you don't/can't use money to buy characters, start with Claudette and use Empathy (can see injured survivors so can either heal them or know where the killer is chasing them), Self-Care (allows you to heal yourself), Spine Chill (is a free perk that allows you to know when the killer is coming towards you or looking at you from a close distance). Once youve Prestiged her/gotten her to level 50, her perks become available for every other survivor and from there you can either go to Feng Min for Lithe (gain a speed boost of 150% for 3 seconds after fast-vaulting) or go for Meg who has some of the best non-teachable perks in the game with Adrenaline (heal ome health state and gain a speed boost once all gens are done) and Sprint Burst (gain 150% speed boost for 3 secs once you start running after the perk has finished cooldown). Try to put yourself in as many different scenarios as possible to start yo gain a better understanding of the game such as trying to learn skills checks and being good at them as they are important, getting into chase only when neccessary at the start to try to become more confident with being chased and giving your teammates time to objectives and rescuing teammates. Once you have enough of an understanding of these core mechanics as well as being observant with killers to understanding how they work, you'll develop. Also try to split time playing survivor and killerto build an understanding of their POV and what can alert them such as scratch marks and failed skill checks. I know this is a lot of info but hope it helps. Good luck

500 hours in and i still lose most of my games in soloq survivor, the killers are so insanely sweaty and trying to be a good team without communications is almost impossible, but when i play killer i win almost every game with the exceptions where i make obvious mistakes...
i still love the game, apparently it takes around 1200 hours to become "intermediate" and get out of being a "beginner" survivor sadly so i guess i'll try and push through until i reach the part where survivor becomes fun, but as a "new" player with 500 hours, the game just feels incredibly unbalanced and killer sided, i cant win as survivor, and i cant lose as killer. i can only hope things change in the future or i hit the skill wall where survivor is winnable.

In reference to how toxic the fan base is as a new player myself: it seems to be both toxic and chill simultaneously. Sometimes, you get wholesome vibes or even a friendly Killer, and other times you get absolutely destroyed or even toyed with... Or worse yet a Knight (hopefully the new nerfs work). Either way though, I think it's a fairly well made game and something else worth noting: they know pride doesn't end after the month, and the codes for pride charms and banners appear to work year round. It might seem like a small thing, but with rainbow capitalism and all that jazz it's really nice to see.

If you find yourself in endgame quite a bit, try bring and deliveryly, finishing gens that are closest to each other
Deja vu, since it's a perk on all survivors, can get reliability, blinding works best in breaking and picking up animations
And for killer, do you best to fake some hits for dh, it can be good in the long run
Wish you the best of luck

As a very old dbd player playing since the beta, with more then 8k hours. I would say pay attention, like really pay attention. Perks matter or help but information and cooperation is key (surv). Look at the hub see what is each survivor doing is someone is in chase that valuable time use it on a gen, be efficient, if someone is on hook 2 people on gens go for the unhook. Also in chase you are 3 person you can see so much more then the killer can use it to your advantage. Especially on pc try and swing your camera. That means when in chase every few seconds take a look behind by doing a 180 with the camera so you know what the killer is planning, then swing it back to the front so you can see where you are going. Also chase if possible loop close to the tiles you can use your camera to get closer without getting caught in an object or even the keys like W,A,S,D. Or if you cant do that for the life of you pre-throw pallets, especially true agaist killers like Oni which is whole power is based on getting blood from the injured try and avoid the first hit as long as possible. If you cant loop you can pre-throw pallets and the killer has 2 options, to kick the pallet or to loop it and try and mind game if it kicks leave to another loop, if it mind game’s look around at him try to see what is he doing where is he going so you can do the opposite of him. These are the basics they take a bit to get used to and they wont always work as its such an different experience each time with each killer and random maps etc. and a last thing before perks, if on a gen use your camera look around see if you can get intel where is the killer is he coming to you? If he is coming to you and you or the hear beat is very fast and loud pre-leave the generator. And also some perks that help a lot when starting out are. bond - free information, can heal teammates or get healed by them, double up on gens or split gens if needed, see where is the chase if its right near the tile infront of you or ifs coming to you. Kindred- when on hook your team can see eachother and the killer, when a teammate is on hook you see everyone and if the killer is near the hook. Sprint burst - pre-leaving gens getting space between you and the killer or getting to a safe loop faster.
Deja VU - preventing a 3 gen, (3 closest gens that the killer can patrol very fast and interupt.) you see the aura of the 3 closes gene at all times and when you work on them you get 6% repair boost. Window of opportunity, see all pallets and vaults, alert each time a killer is doing an action you see their aura. And many more but always stick to the one rule that is most important pay attention. And also be efficient. And dont forget just have fun is not that deep. 😊

    • @paulgabrielbacosca8712
      @paulgabrielbacosca8712 Місяць тому

Also please use consistent perks. What do I mean by that, perks that just work without you needing to do much, or don't need a high skill cap to be used. Aka bond or kindred they just work without you needing to do anything. A high skill cap perk would be dead hard it can be very clutch and can help but it needs a lot of attention and a fast response time to get dead hard to work and actually not get down, and even if you do make it work if you can't extend the chase beyond more then a few more seconds considering you can use it twice after being hooked you are wasting a perk slot.

dbd player since beta here with like 2000 hours (kinda low for 8 years I take a lot of breaks from this game lol), as for tips I would say for me I really started to get better when around the 100-200 hour mark I started watching some content creators on both sides, really helps you discover things way more quickly and efficiently about the game (with otzdarva being one of the most noob-friendly channels today).
I would say that while the skill floor for killer is a bit lower then survivor, as someone who plays both sides equally - the skill ceiling for most killers is higher then survs. Nowadays I play surv if I want to chill with friends and killer if I want to tryhard a bit since the role requires a bit of micromanaging and a lot of knowledge of your respective killer once you get some good survs teams.
On that note, another tip I would give is play both killer and surv frequently, having the perspective of both sides makes you get better a lot faster in comparison to just spamming one role.
Hope this helps, sorry for the wall of text 😅

Game seems to have a good skill ceiling which I typically love with competitive games but what I do not like at all is how killer sided it is with lower ranks.
Yes at high ranks survivors who are elite level players will run circles around killers but in general most players are at just an insane disadvantage to killers and feels like a waste of time, I would rather play something else.

Theres actually a lot of games like it on the market they just havent hit as much sucess as dbd. Some examples are: Soul at Stake, Friday the 13th ( official servers shut down), Video Horror Society (official servers shut down), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Secret Neighbor, Hide Or Die (shut down), Deciet, and more. Even the dbd devs made their own clone esk game that failed (Death Garden) and was shut down shortly afterwards.
On another note, disconnecting is not actually an option. If you disconnect you get a penalty that stacks every time you leave. Last I played even if youre not back to back disconnecting (I disconnected once and then another time 30 min later) it still stacks up to hours at a time.
You can also purchase all non licensed dlc for in game currency and all dlc perks are also available through in game currency (without having to purchase the corresponding dlc). There are also bundled packs of survivors and killers as well as the game is also sold bundled with dlc at times (I dont know why you said otherwise). Currently the game can be purchased bundled with the resident evil collab and the dungeons and dragons collab. All of which always go on sale on every major steam sale, which is 4x a year. The screenshot you put on screen was a screenshot of the dlc section of any steam games page. Meaning that the game bundles would not show up there. The game bundles show up at the top of the page where you click to buy the game. I dont see how you could have missed something so blatant.

Just putting it out there the killer side has the higher skill ceiling. At high mmr you'll find the teams of friends all on comms. The difficulty on the killers side skyrockets and you know by your first or 2nd chase. Get the top swf teams vs the top killer players and a good 8-9/10 the survivors win. That is top level players with like 8k+ hours though.
Watching low mmr matches is entertaining, the ball is in anyones park ha
At the end of the day surviving the trial doesn't actually matter. Just have some fun and goof around. Its a better experience all round then 🙂

    • @Аку-ю7ф
      @Аку-ю7ф Місяць тому +1

the reason survivors start winning at the extremely high mmrs is because thats where their skill ceiling surpasses the killers, the killers skill has reached a "max" but the survivors keep going so it gets harder for the other side, also makes sense why every other mmr group is killer sided, because of that lower skill ceiling to perform well

  • @babylonl21

I was in your shoes 1 year ago. A lot has changed and it has not been for the better. With the perspective of 1 full year playing, I'd say that the game is not worth your time, energy or money: the devs are incredibly entitled, mediocre and sided with the killers from the moment they acquired their first licensed characters. They absolutely fugging hate survivors and they will punish you if you win. I'd love to see this game failing so all the licensed content can be picked up by other devs and hopefully make an actual fair game, but until that happens, dbd is the only game where Leon Kennedy, Ellen Ripley, Ash Williams and Cheryl Mason can team up, which was a dream me and my friends had in our teen years.
