putting Rwanda in the western design misery of the DRC is to distract the Africans to not question the real roots caused of the mess in the DRC, Rwanda didn't kill Lumumba nor propping up Mobutu, offloading the misery of Congo to Rwanda is purely ignorance of the highest order.
@billykash491 The Congo has been in turmoil ever since outsiders set foot there. By "outsiders," I mean those who are not African. If you care about history, you may know that there were kingdoms before these artificial borders were created, and they got along quite well back then. However, Europeans decided to merge Congo, Rwanda, and Burundi into one country with a single currency based in Léopoldville (now Kinshasa). Later, the Belgians turned Congo into the personal property of their king. When the Congolese rose up, chased away the colonizers, and gained independence, their leader, Lumumba, was dissolved in acid with the help of the father of the the actual president of Congo. They handed the country to Mobutu, who did not truly care about Congo and ensured that the West received everything they needed at the expense of the Congolese people-a situation that continues to this day. Saying that the mess in Congo started because of the genocide of Tutsis in Rwanda is a profound ignorance. If you know about King Leopold II of Belgium, you would be aware that he killed more than 20 million natives to pave the way for Congo to become a piece of Europe. Shortly before independence, Congo was an entity created by Europeans in the heart of Africa, built on the suffering of Congolese,Rwandans&Burundians who labored hard to enrich Europe and West. Blaming the mess in the Congo on Rwanda is pure racism and ignorance of the highest order.

It is the richest country in the world. However, it has poor people and this is not new. It is a problem that plagues many nations on the African Continent.
If the people of Congo can’t understand how others are exploiting them and they being used as tools then it’s there own fault. I think they need to take a pause and rethink about there societal values.
This is why I hesitated buying a PS5 earlier this year. As a gamer who's bought many devices for my hobby over the years, this feels terrible to watch, but it's something we should know about.Goes without saying, those metals should profit the people of DRC, not Chinese/EU/US companies and corrupt politicians.
The point of my comment was not to take a moral high ground nor to tell others to stop using devices. Me not mentioning computers and phones doesn’t mean I don’t acknowledge them as part of the problem. Of course I know those also contain rare metals, but in modern society it’s very difficult to live without using them. Consumption of these products doesn’t mean we cannot criticize the production of their raw materials.
I mentioned gaming gear specifically because that's MY personal achilles heel in my electronic consumption. I'm actively following news about upcoming consoles and I'm very likely to buy them once games I'm interested about stop releasing on previous systems. But when it comes to computers, phones and TVs, I always use them as long as they work. The desktop PC I'm typing on has served me for seven years, the TV I use with consoles is almost a decade in use and the I Phone 7 been in my pocket for five years. Being more sustainable with those is much easier for me, as I already said I only update them when they stop working and I already decided to buy my next phone used. My personal future goal is to apply those aforementioned more sustainable choices, compromises and restraints to my gaming console consumption. If only the truly most ethical of us (the people who don't consume ANYTHING containing DR Congolese metals) were allowed to criticize the production of these ores, then pretty much no one in developed countries could ever call out the injustices of mining companies and politicians, because the metals are used even in the production of electricity itself, and living without power is almost impossible without moving in a cave/forest. I hope my point is understood better now. I guess I should have included this essay with my original comment.
It is not the resource curse that is the problem, the people are. I kid you not, if DRC Congo was full of the Saudis or the Europeans, it would be a super power. The problem is not even Rwanda, Rwanda is too small for a DRC Congo if well managed. Actually, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) our neighbour to the west has never been a "poor" country. With natural resources valued at an estimated USD7.4 trillion, which is equivalent to the GDP of the USA and the entire continent of Europe combined, you may ask why then is it called a "poor" country? The country may be rich in natural resources but "poor" in leadership. Good leadership or precisely GOOD GOVERNANCE matters a great deal. When the people in government fail, no country can make any progress at all. This is the most intractable problem we are facing, a detriment and an impediment to our progress, which is pervasive throughout the entire African continent. It is a broad term consisting of 8 principles, as enunciated by the United Nations, the topmost of which is the ACCOUNTABILITY to the governed, and sadly the least understood by our African leadership today. There isn't a single African country lacking the means and resources to prosper. Nevertheless, the means and resources at our disposal will never amount to anything in Africa until we have achieved GOOD GOVERNANCE. Therefore, the African countries like the DRC, for example, are not yet rich, nor are they "poor" at all. We are simply badly governed "low income" countries.

Mineral richness: correct.
Climate: disastrous and home to some of the most devastating breeding grounds of fatal and maiming diseases, to this day.
Fertile soils: The opposite is true, except for the conflict-ridden eastern provinces.
The shame is a culture of endemic corruption and violence which dates back long before the arrival of western colonial powers and the almost complete lack of good governance principles, for centuries.

putting Rwanda in the western design misery of the DRC is to distract the Africans to not question the real roots caused of the mess in the DRC, Rwanda didn't kill Lumumba nor propping up Mobutu, offloading the misery of Congo to Rwanda is purely ignorance of the highest order.
Rwanda is a problem one day will be invaded and defeated how come Rwanda exports minerals without any mine?
But Rwanda is at the forefront of the deaths
And if wasn't for the rwanda genocide, kongo wouldn't have been in this mess.

Congo needs a leader like Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso.
They can't chase away the big mining companies basically owned by China.. BECAUSE... The DRC doesn't have the knowledge of how to produce the goods & the infrastructure to produce them.. So in theory, they kick out everyone..... "🇨🇩 Right we've got all our minerals to ourselves and not giving it to anyone.. Now how do we & how can we make stuff 🤔". AND.... An instructive video that shows that people have not progressed at all in their moral development, despite a bunch of declarations.
How about your phone? Your laptop? Your TV? etc
You need to go off grid.
But you're using a phone or laptop to view this video and type your comment 😮
If a strong well meaning leader surrounded by strong allies emerges in DRC, even Rwanda would fear interfering but so long as the people in DRC are corrupt, the nonsense will continue

The DRC has been in turmoil for decades and decades. People need to stop bringing Rwanda into conversations without looking at the full history.
Rwanda, but mostly Batutsi and their relatives on the DRC side (eg, Banyamulenge) are still being seen as "natural enemies" among small, but very vocal voices, elsewhere in DRC. It sometimes comes down to people herding cattle (literally: Batutsi) being taken as enemies. Even among allegedly educated people in the capital.

I am looking in the comments section, where people will blame Nigeria…😂😂😂…you know even though each country has its internal issues, people seem to blame Nigeria for everything.
