    I've been really enjoying watching your videos the past week or 2. I used to breed angels about 10 years ago and I don't keep any now but your videos have really made me think about getting some again.

      They are truly very intriguing species. I like them over any other species.

    I really can’t express how much this video means to me as an Angel fish breaded and hobby enthusiast. The way you detailed your strains and their offspring were exemplary!

    Angelfish nerd myself, nowhere near an expert been keeping them for years also, nothing fancy like yours and I'm just a 3 tank kinda guy. Lol.
    I breed but really slow on it. Just going one batch at a time. My yield is good though after fry deaths and culls, I'm around 120 fish for my last spawn.
    You have some nice fish my dude! I just try to pick the nicest looking generic angels from the LFS.
    BTW, I don't use methelyene blue. I either just leave the eggs with the parents until the fry are freeswimming for 2 weeks, or if I pull the eggs I put it in chlorinated tapwater, the chlorine will age out by the time the eggs hatch.

    Those pinoys are astonishing! I have bred some Blue Bulgarian SealPoints (pb/pb, bg/bg, D/g) that produced some double dark that look somewhat like a Pinoy.

    Hi, I love your videos! I was wondering when u move the eggs from the methylline blue, do you use distilled water for your 5 gallon tank or just tap water? Do you leave the water sit for a while or brand new water just before putting the eggs in, you mentioned sterile as possible? I'm going to try to hatch eggs for the 1st time. Do u sell and ship your angelfish? Thanks for your sharing your knowledge! Have a great day 😀

    • @amazonianangelfish
      @amazonianangelfish 11 місяців тому

      I move the eggs into m. blue 24 hours after initial discovery of the eggs being laid. After they hatch and are wigglers, I remove them from the blue water into water without m blue. I have experimented with both tap water and purified drinking water in the 5 gallon, and the purified drinking water seems to have given better results, although both works. I don't let the water sit, just straight from the tap then add in the eggs. But if you're doing purified drinking water, let it sit so it can gain temperature from the main tank. I do sell and ship my offsprings, but at the moment, I'll only be producing silvers being recessive for recessive genes. I hope you have fun breeding. Not everything will fall in place and do not expect instant results.

      Thanks! I bought distilled water because I thought I needed that for the eggs. I have a 10 gallon I thought I'd fill halfway . Hopefully, that will work. How do I see your fish for sale? Did you give up on the other breeds ? I believe that you have the prettiest fish I've ever seen and you really know your stuff!

      @reneesnugent3358 thank you for your comment. At the time, I cannot breed as much as I wanted due to limited space and time. Because I go for quality, I can only do one step at a time, one color at a time, and cannot not mass produce. Right now I'm really hitting hard on creating the blue albino. Because these two are both recessive genes, they are problematic to work with and requires patience. That's why silvers is all I'll be able to create at the moment. I don't have much for sale at the moment, but you can find what I have avaliable in my pinned featured post on Facebook:

    • @amazonianangelfish
      @amazonianangelfish 11 місяців тому +1

      @reneesnugent3358 I'll be breeding for standard fin blues. I just pulled some wigglers and planning to raise them. Hopefully, the male is recessive for blue. The female is blue.

    Hi,I want to ask you one thing,in your sprawning tank u have put a heater where as in your hatching tank you did not used a heater.what is the reason.

    • @amazonianangelfish
      @amazonianangelfish 2 роки тому

      The mother 55 gallon spawning tank will heat up the 5 gallon hatching tank. That way I don't have to waste electricity to heat up the 5 gallon tank. When I do water change I remove water from the 5 gallon and refill it with the clean water from the 55 gallon and the temperature will be the same.

    What is your water hardness? I hear Meth Blue doesn’t work well in soft water. Doesn’t work for me

    • @amazonianangelfish
      @amazonianangelfish 2 роки тому

      My water is 7.6-7.8 pH. My source is Lake Michigan so pretty hard water here. If it doesn't work due to soft water, try using less m. Blue.

    Hi brother. I wanted to ask you Is it better to make siblings breed or better to breed two unrelated blood?What do you think about this? Your opinion precious to me. Thank you

    • @amazonianangelfish
      @amazonianangelfish 2 роки тому +1

      Breeding two unrelated bloodline will create a new bloodline and you'll have the right to claim them as your own. However, if the brother sister pair is not from your own bloodline and are from one breeder (let's say you bought 6 from 1 breeder), even if you breed them, those babies are not your bloodline because they are just copies from the original breeder.
      I found that breeding unrelated bloodline will create f1 that will throw a lot of different looking fish where I call "wild- card" you will not know what you'll get and most of the time they are all ugly babies, however, there will be a handful of good looking ones if that f1 batch and you'll have to keep those to breed for the next generation. Those f1 will create f2 that will be very pretty and superior quality. That is how I obtained my bloodline.

      @@amazonianangelfish thank you for your answer. I got a very nice pair male was panda and female was zebra. First batch failed because it was their first spawning and mine too :) unfortunatelly after the second batch i lost them. It was inner
      parasite. Now i just got 12 juveniles. They are so beautiful i want to cross them with koi . I just got lack of room if i can do something about it i want to have a room like yours. Your videos are good. Keep doing it following you. Thank you!!

    Why would you breed siblings would that not weaken the strain?

    • @amazonianangelfish
      @amazonianangelfish Рік тому

      Breeding siblings increase the chance of having better offsprings. Breeding non related fish will throw wild cards and most of them will not have good finnages. For a couple generations it's fine but after a while it's good to mix in new bloodline.
