Interesting method. Seems secure. I saw a video of a young man melting hot glue, where you place your pad, then close the upper onto the lower and wait till it cools. Instant wedge.
one of my uppers has a hole for a set screw to adjust it to take up the slack. But that would mean drilling and tapping a hole on the ones that didn't come with one. If it's 1/4-20 you could use a plastic toilet seat screw. You can get other plastic screws in other sizes... but I have toilet seat screws in my bins if leftover parts from other projects.
Agreed. I've since started skipping the glue, and simply cutting the rubber wedge a little big and wedging it down in there so it's TIGHT and won't come loose.

I tried this after watching the video. This works very well! Thanks for the great tip, I always like saving a few $$
Any time.

A belt sander or bench grinder is a great way to shape rubber. Just be careful not to let it get wedged between the abrasive and the guard.
Great VIDEO!!! Subbed!!!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Do these rubber shims make it hard to move the takedown pin later on (when taking it apart in the field)?
I use ear plugs lol and a small o ring for the side to side play in the front
I just use a drop in auto sear in place of accuwedge(sorry atf)
You never explain, WHAT " THESE " ARE ?
Absolutely nothing except a means to make sure the upper and lower mate as tightly as possible.
They're accu-wedges.😮
Shoe gue works great but take forever to cure.

How cheap do you have to be to avoid a $2 part? Yes, $2 on Amazon.
Thanks for commenting. As I noted in the video, this isn't worth doing unless you have a bunch of ARs.
You can buy 10 generic accu wedges for around $10.
The problem is I only need one.
