This begins when Doris decides not to marry Gig Young and the marriage never happens. She runs away and marries Frank. Some good singing numbers in this installment.
I love this installment of the movie. The characters Lori and Barney obviously love each other without being overtly passionate. He doesn't need to kiss her passionately because their love is more than that. His kiss on her nose is very poignant and loving. This is actually my favorite scene because the characters are comfortable with each other even during "lean times" which is more of a testament to true love than all the running around and playing the Lori character was doing with Alex at the beginning of the movie. At first, I was disappointed that Lori didn't marry Alex, but then it is obvious why these two make a better couple. Lori and Alex would have ridden off into the sunset with giggles and smiles and all the cuteness portrayed in 1950's romances, but Barney and Lori are what lifetime marriages are made of: loving and sacrifice even when the going gets tough.
I knew it was a remake.i couldnt remember the name .four daughters with Claude Raines it was a good movie also had 2 or three movies about that family .I love this movie just as much. The father was funny in the original though he had a bigger part.
During this time period Sinatra was recording Wee Small Hours and than Songs for Swinging Lovers...two of his finest efforts. His voice was at his peak here....
+Janet Mingo These are not switched. I loaded them exactly the way the movie was made. If you ever viewed the entire movie, you would know that they are in the correct order. Please, before you make comments like this, check out the movie first.
+archie0224 , it seems that installments 2 and 3 are switched... maybe just accidentally mislabeled? They meet Barney in installment 3, then go to watch him play in installment 2. Thank you so, so much for uploading this fabulous movie, though! This is the only place I've found it to watch online! You let me check one more Sinatra movie off of my watch list.
archie0224 Actually they were in the wrong order. I presume you must have realised this as I see they are now correctly labelled. I used to own the video and I saw the movie when I was about 12 years old. must have watched it more than 20 times.
In one of Doris’ interviews, radio I think, but it was on you tube, she talked about this movie. She said Sinatra was not happy to be doing the film so it was a bit tense. So guess his grouchiness wasn’t acting. Lol.
she didn't do anything, but cry. Laurie realized she didn't love Alex like her sister did. She also told Alex she adored him, which isn't the same as loving enough to marry somebody.. Remember in the kitchen with Barnie, Laurie said his kiss was''t very much for waiting a week, and she went looking for Barnie and was unhappy to think he would be going back to New York. If he had told her in the kitchen he loved her, instead of being afraid, Laurie might not have accepted Alex' proposal.
loretta rolison I don’t know, you don’t leave a guy at the altar like that cuz your sister loves him - Alex DIDN’T love Amy. Alex was twice the man character wise that Barney was -

My favourite singers and film .

i think that is awful that sister did that to doris day. she knew alex loved lori. it is not like she was going out with him.

Did she give back the ring back??
Are these in order? Young at Heart movie, installment 2,3, and 4? I've never seen it before and I'm confused. Is there an ending that's not uploaded?
fanilow72 The last segment of this movie is not yet loaded. Yes, they are in order and one follows the other.
+fanilow72 This movie is missing the ending, find the ending by googling : young at heart last scene. When this happens it kinda ruins the experience.

I own this movie and have viewed it many, many times.
+archie0224 Many thanks for this little gem .
