I am in the middle of the same conversion. F800S with F800ST handlebar. I have noticed two differences. 1. I don't need changing the throttle cable position. The factory one is long enough. 2. I need to swap my front brake hose from F800ST. Factory one is to short even if removed from the holder.

Good evening, I am doing the same modification on a bmw r 1150rs. How did you fix the left grip on the handlebar? Disassembling the original handlebar I saw that it is fixed with 2 screws inserted in two small threaded holes on the handlebar. In your video, I saw you unscrewed the left grip from the handlebar. Hello, it's a adjustable handlebar like the F800ST and as at F800GS, you can adjust the handlebar position as desired. The position is more comfortable after the change
What difference in handlebar height did it make? Why did you have to drill? Couldn't just unscrew those screws? I have BMW F800ST but want to change for S handlebars for more sporty position. Just wondering if it's worth it. Found cheap used parts on ebay so cost it's not a problem.
It was big big difference for me, from sport position to touting position. Those screws are made only for tightening, security system.If you want sporty position it's worth it. I switched to F800GS for 2 years. Good luck!
