I thought the only way to summon MrBeast (and his lawyers) was to accuse his crew members of acting like degenerates on a youtube video, but I guess you learn something new everyday. Thanks Flammy!
Speaking of the cycloid videos, one potential video idea would be to derive the cycloid equation as a solution of the FLRW equations for a closed matter-dominated universe.
Love your videos, don’t waste anytime getting to the point or over explaining which a lot of mathematicians lose their audience to, and you give just the right amount, sir. Amazing!
hey flammy, id subbed to you ~5 years ago on my other defunct account and we interacted quite a bit. love to see that you're still pumping out quality videos. reignited my love for maths. much love.
Why are you saying "area" instead of "arc" or "inverse" when referring to the inverse hyperbolic sine or cosine functions? they do relate to area, but that's not the names I'm familiar with. Is it a regional thing?
We have once again run into the hardest part of math: consistent and universally agreed upon notation. Aside, I actually rather like the 'arg' prefix, its more intuitive than 'arc' or 'area'.
"2 is not zero... it is the successor of 1" 😭😂
The representation for this constant should be the greek letter Psi because it looks like the parabolic arc and the two focal lenghts.

SO FUCKING REAL
Hey german boy
Hey

1+sqrt(2) is also the Silver Ratio, the second Metallic Number.

I never knew that parabolas have a rectum, I thought it was just a part of the human anatomy.
Live and learn.

It’s been a while since I played with math, thank you for letting me revisit integrals and conic sections
Early! Great video as always. Thank you, sir.
Missed you papi flammy! Always look forward to videos likes these

Those are the names, arc does not apply as a prefix for hyperbolic functions.
@@PapaFlammy69 I looked it up and you're right of course, I just assumed that arc- prefix carried over from circular trig. TIL
Mathematica has this wrong; the inverse hyperbolic trig functions are all prefixed 'Arc' rather than 'Ar'.
I have a book that's like 60 years old and it calls them argsinh and argcosh (argument of sinh).

the greatest number i've never heard of doesn't exist as the set of numbers i have never heard of is not compact.
Noncompact sets can have maximal elements, e.g. the half-open interval (0,1].
@@tomkerruish2982 yeah, but you get the point
Seriously there more? I only just got used to the conic sections.
Oh well there’s another Saturday afternoon gone
How tf was your video made 53 years ago?
do one for circles
Great!
vids like yours keep me interested in math and chugging through the major, thank you Dr. Richtofen
mean no disrespect by the way, just played bo1 zombies earlier and was like damn he sounds like richtofen
There is only *one* true parabola
It's weird to me that it involves twice the focal length, just another example of how tau is the true circle constant I guess :P
your 1970 video is very good 😭😭 the oh no daddy
Nah, universal parabolic constant is too complex of a name.
I like *parabolic pi* more
YOOOOO
Honestly the ratio doesn't look like 2.3, more like 1.6 at most.
yeye
I am not able to understand a single letter he wrote... That's how my maths is.......
But that’s a letter flammie
Woah why is mr beast in my closet? Does he have something to say about his closeted nature? Is he going to come out of said closet?
