Español: "The Frog Prince" es una canción interpretada y compuesta por el grupo inglés de rock alternativo Keane, publicada como tema final de su segundo álbum, Under the Iron Sea. La canción fue compuesta en 2004 y mencionada por primera vez por Tim Rice-Oxley en el DVD Strangers. Una versión demo también cuenta con Rice-Oxley cantando en la voz principal.
Rice-Oxley explica la canción en el sexto podcast de la banda:
(...)Se inspiró en una conversación que mantuvimos Tom (Chaplin) y yo en un hotel de Toronto, en estado de embriaguez, y en la que hablábamos de alguien de otra banda que nos parecía un compositor de gran talento y una persona inteligente y con talento, pero que nos parecía que estaba ocupado hablando mal de nosotros y de todas las bandas que había por allí. Fue muy frustrante verle pasar de ser un compositor genial en una pequeña banda indie a convertirse de repente en esta persona que interpreta el papel de estrella de rock arrogante(...)
Se ha sugerido que la persona descrita anteriormente es el líder de Razorlight, Johnny Borrell. El 18 de octubre de 2006, cuando Keane actuaba en el Apollo de Manchester, Tom Chaplin dedicó la canción a Liam Gallagher, miembro de Oasis.
English: "The Frog Prince" is a song performed and composed by English alternative rock band Keane, released as the closing track on their second album, Under the Iron Sea. The song was composed in 2004 and first mentioned by Tim Rice-Oxley on the Strangers DVD. A demo version also features Rice-Oxley singing on the lead vocals.
Rice-Oxley explains the song on the band's 6th podcast:
(...)It was inspired by a conversation that Tom (Chaplin) and I were having in a slightly drunken state in a hotel in Toronto, and we were talking about someone in another band who we felt was a really talented songwriter and really intelligent and talented person, but we felt he was busy bad-mouthing us and every other band that was around it seemed. It was very frustrating to see him go from a cool great songwriter in a small indie band, to suddenly becoming this person who's playing the part of the arrogant rock star(...)
It has been suggested that the person described above is Razorlight's frontman, Johnny Borrell. On 18 October 2006, when Keane were playing at the Apollo Manchester, Tom Chaplin dedicated the song to Oasis member Liam Gallagher.
