Just turned 21 and going to be due soon for my baby. Looking to buy a house in the future and this video is very helpful! One question I have is what if I have the 5% down payment money saved, credit score over 740, but am not employed anymore? Would it still be possible to buy a house? Or would I have to wait until I’m back to work for a year and then buy a house?
Congrats on the baby!!! And kudos on great saving and credit, too. I will need to land a new job before you'd be able to get pre-approved. We''ll have to double check with Bridget but I believe she'll tell us that what will matter is 1) what your past couple tax returns look like, 2) how long you've been without a job and 3) The reason for being unemployed. I don't think you'll have to wait a year to get approved though - I'd be very surprised. If you shoot Bridget an email (see description above) she'll get you a more solid answer!
