I don't mind ads and I don't think anyone who watches UA-camrs should, they are giving us FREE entertainment. They can have a 30 second ad before their video and ones that pop up. I'm fine with that or any advert they throw at me
And also, they have ads breaks on TV too - right in the middle of the thing you're watching usually, while on here they are only at the beginning. Why would people pay for no adverts, when they just need a little bit of patience to last 5 seconds before you can skip the ad?
+William Woods but 30 seconds that support what you're watching without you having to actually pay anything yourself. Well, not give up anything except a bit of patience.
The pop up ones after 10 minutes or so do bother me, mainly because they aren't always 30 second ones and if you're listening to music it could be distracting

+James Kay I don't usually mind ads either, but the moment I whitelisted Emma's channels on adblock I got nothing but the same 3.5 minute ad that had no option to skip at the beginning of every. single. video, and on other channels with much longer videos there's often a few ads scattered throughout the video, and I'm talking long ones that completely disrupt the video, not just the little ones that pop up at the bottom of the screen. Ended up going to do other things whenever that 3.5min ad showed up so I didn't have to stare at it.
The way I see it is if you enjoy any of the content someone puts out you should support them by turning ads on if nothing else. It's the least you can do, and you should be doing it anyway since- as you said- it's free entertainment.
It seems your creative juice is on fire. The latest uploads just keeps getting better and better.

So instead of wanting to be your own boss, and get paid ridiculous amounts of money at the same time, you'd rather work for someone else and get paid a lot less, while having less free time and other luxuries that come with being a UA-camr?
Do yourself a massive favour and put most of your time into UA-cam, and as long as you stay dedicated and consistent there's no reason why you wouldn't grow.
Being a UA-camr basically means you've won life. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and have shit tonnes of money to spend in the meantime. BE A UA-camR!!

How in 7 shades of fuck is being a UA-camr not a 'real job'!? It fits directly into the criteria of an Entatainer, just like Actors/ Actresses and singer etc! You don't see anyone going up to Jennifer Lawrence or Ashley Costello and tell them to go and get a real Job, do you know why, it's because they do have one! They are self employed, work their own hours and at the end of the month they get a pay cheque for it all, seems like a job to me!

Sometimes I think it's so rude for people to say 'get a real job' because it dismisses the UA-camr's work but then I see lots of UA-camr's with cars and morgagest/renting big homes and their overly expensive make-up and massive clothing hauls and latest iPhones etc and I get it. I mean, I don't recent UA-camr's getting paid (exception being if their content doesn't seem to have any effort put in or whatever) but I think the hates comes from when the UA-camrs earn more than people on minimum wage who work on their feet 9 hours a day and still struggle with money. I personally feel the bigger issue is how much they get paid compared to people on minimum wage in regular employment... Alos when some UA-camrs charge *so* much for merch aimed at teenagers/people in their early twenties who typically don't have much money themselves or ask for donations from the people earning less than them. Maybe that hate gets generalised to the majority of UA-camrs...

I agree with this so much. I do accept that youtube is a job for some, but I absolutely disagree when vloggers moan about it being the hardest job there is and that nobody understands how hard they work.
Certain youtubers complain about having 'the hardest busiest day evurr guys, when you dont do youtube at least you get days off' when their day includes getting driven to the gym by a personal trainer at 8am, doing an hour of editing and filming the Nandos they've had for dinner, while living in considerable luxury, and having complete financial security. So many of these people have never had other jobs; they've never had to answer to a manager or been faced with redundancy or lived hand to mouth.
Not to toot my own horn because my situation is incredibly average (and thankfully much more comfortable than that of many others) but my day begins when I walk to the train station at 7am for a long day at uni. I often don't get home until twelve hours later, at which point i still have self directed work to do. I get a day off around once a fortnight if I'm lucky, because I have to hold down a part time job on my 'days off' to afford to, y'know, be alive.
I don't get people who get pissed off about youtubers getting paid money... it's like... someone else is paying a youtuber to provide you with free entertaining content... why are you angry about that...
I've watched you for a couple of years, seen you go through many changes, problems, good experiences, hairstyles and so much more, and now I look at you and think you're finally developing into the woman you've always wanted to be. Amazing :) x
I feel like more and more so recently Emma has to disclaim everything she says so that no one can call her out for something bullshit they made up just now that she didn't definitely say she didn't say, and I just find it horrible, she's had so much backlash out of nowhere and it's beyond ridiculous. I think both Emma herself and her videos are fantastic and as a result fail to see why she gets so much negativity directed towards her. Keep at it girl, keep shining.

It's not just Emma though, all youtubers have to put disclaimers on videos and keep explaining that they don't mean things offensively, even when they clearly aren't offensive. sadly there are loads of people on the internet who are just looking for things to be offended by and to them I say: Get a life!

If there were no ads then half the people you watch daily and that have 'helped' you in life will not continue to make frequent content. I really don't get why people see youtubing as less than a real way to make a living. It's a form of entertainment for crying out loud, people have been living off of entertainment for as long as there has been paid jobs.

UA-cam is an incredibly amazing job, but don't you DARE undermine the work our favourite subscribers put into their videos. Each "5 minute video" would take around seven hours to edit. Did you think about that? I would tell you to stop watching their videos, but by making these comments, you just contributed to their pay. So, good on you :)
+Quinn Asdfghjkl you're right. there are some truly awesome UA-cam videos out there. however, I would say 99% of what is on UA-cam is trash. A "vlog" or a "Let's Play" more than likely doesn't take 7 hours to edit and it requires minimal planing.
