I really enjoyed the video and some great lessons here. However, in the case of "the move", it's not always true that if where you are is bad, then it's because of your own perspective or doing as implied by this particular lesson. Sometimes you must move to get out of a toxic situation and not blame yourself.
So the man should have lied about the last town he lived in, and said it was wonderful. So how is that good? Can you really lie to yourself, when you know what the truth is? Somethings are bad, and how do you just pretend they are all good? Is this a way to make yourself feel better?

I have a problem with this narrative. It focusses too much on succes and overcoming in stead of just being. There is a trap there. I felt pretty good about losing 10 pounds, until my friend told me he lost 20 pounds in the same time. Focussing on your "succes" means focussing on a story and anything that undermines that story is a threat. So celebrating your successes has a problem. I fit the profile and the stories do nothing. Zero on the EMOTION meter. It is under my control, this is no help on what buttons to push what knobs to twist. I think it’s a 5 factor interaction from my ADD life of 73 years and just finding out in the last 6 months. That’s the help the medical and educational community provided. For me to grasp this as a broad based solution to get off the tread mill is far fetched. Not enough use of partial differential equations and Boolean Algebra.
look at children. They are happy, playful, curious, joyful. That is our true nature. Analytical, worrying mind is taught in school. It is unnatural. Zen is taking yourself back to your true nature.

I don't get it. If something isn't right for you, or you had a bad experience, how are you NOT to have negative thoughts about it? I don't care for the "positive thinking"...seems forced, and lots of denial and pretending.

Or he’s hoping we both drive faster to get to our homes because of the ensuing hurricane. I.e the tailgater is trying to help us.
Perception is great
true version valuable asseveration.

Great video. Filled with wisdom.
