The first story is a Chinese classic, from a book called “Huai Nan Zi” 《淮南鸿烈集解》written around 100BC in WestHan dynasty China. Lots of cool short stories and wisdom in that book, worth to check out.

This is what the internet was made for.
Too much toxic thought and opinion on social media within our perceived challenging lives.
Spreading this type of “stoic joy” is a good thing.
    I may get a negative/ positive comment.

And you are the type of idiot that keeps their "especially wise" reputations alive. Wisdom is as freely available as the air you breathe. You don't need a self-proclaimed "wise" man to take your money and teach you platitudes. Just open your eyes and observe. Close your mouth, open your ears, and listen. Eastern mysticism is just another con. Besides, if you haven't listened to your parents, friends, teachers, and coworkers.... you won't gain anything from them, either.

I don't remember when I first heard the number 1 story in this video, it was few years ago (maybe even on your channel?), but I know, that this story really had impact on my life. Since then always when something bad or good happened in my life, I had this story in my mind. And this turned out to be very true. So many times bad events brought eventually something good, and vice versa. I often share this story with people and really recommend to have it in mind! We tend to put label on things, "bad" or "good", but things can change fast.

I love the content but i didn't get the last one. I couldn't relate to it. What I understand is having a positive perspective. But how does it connect to what I seek is what I find. Because in my case I want to move somewhere, because there is no opportunity here and I feel stagnant. So does that mean that the place I'm moving too is also a place where this no opportunity and will still give me the feeling of being stuck because that is how I see my town? I just want to move to gain independence, and find new opportunities, be with new people hiping I can learn from them. Can someone please explain? I'm too slow understanding this.

Finding something good is worth sharing... and helping others is also like helping ourselves (Proverbs 11:25)
Don't want to sound religious but just to share that I hope can help you..
It will make a whole difference when we recognize the reality of a loving and compassionate God... that you are created for a purpose (Psalms 139:14) and loved greatly coz God gave humankind His best... His only Son, to save us from eternal damnation through the forgiveness of our sins. Once we realize that great love despite our shortcomings, we will be strengthened to forgive others as God also forgives us as we humble ourselves before Him. What is great is that God will also enable us to do what He commands... for our own good, our own freedom and protection and inner peace.
There are a lot of good videos around but I suggest that have a quiet moment with God.. to pray and surrender all your hurts unto Him and ask His guidance and strength to go through each day... coz He Who promised never lie.. ever faithful. Titus 1:2, Sharing with you these encouraging, powerful and life -giving Word of the Lord: Romans 8:32, Ephesians 2:8-10, Proverbs 3:1-6, John 3:1-16, James 1:5, (God gives wisdom generously, without finding fault.. to those who ask) Psalms1, Ecclesiastes12:13, Matthew 6:33, Mathhew 7:7, Psalms119 (long but it expounds our need for God and in reading, meditating and holding on His Word ... His statutes.. moment by moment)
Here's praying for you and may you experience the loving touch of our Holy Lord and Creator. May you be surrounded by God-loving people.

However, in the case of "the move", it's not always true that if where you are is bad, then it's because of your own perspective or doing as implied by this particular lesson. I didn't get the "The Move" part, the man wasn't seeking trouble & mean people & he wanted to be away from such negative people, so what's wrong in it? Even Elon Musk left his home town when people & the environment was not suitable for him.

I am sick of words such as: zen, karma, etc.
Buddhism is for people who don't think enough.

Yeah, my doctors and I agree that yoga (stretching) would be a great help with pain and other afflictions I suffer. The problem is, every place I go for Yoga, they constantly try to change my religion. I don't see any of the "Eastern Wisdom" they are supposed to possess. All I see is smug superiority.

@Zhi Lee Buddhism is for anyone, whether they think too much or too little, who is open to benefiting from the insights it has to offer. I can understand being put off by people who overuse their new vocabulary, but that's not Buddhism. The Buddha sought to guide people onto a path that could lead to their liberation from unnecessary suffering. He wasn't seeking to establish a religion.

      @@alwaysuseless - Even as a Chinese, I don't believe in Buddhism.
Buddhism is only a man-made religion. They claimed Buddha said there is no hell, but modern Buddhists do believe hell exists. What a contradiction. That proves Buddhism does NOT have the full truth.
The Buddhist belief of reincarnation is ridiculous. Also it has been disproved.

@@zlee4019 Of course, there is the religion of Buddhism. I'm not interested in that. I'm interested in the Buddha's teachings on awareness, suffering, meditation, and liberation from suffering. It's not necessary to believe in reincarnation, heaven or hell, or an afterlife, to benefit from the teachings of the wise and to live a good life.

    Customer misinterprets story they overhear.
Not knowing facts accuse me of being negative gossip.
Try to set record straight, customer customer
    Spreads his
    negative opinion.
Years latter, I sell a pickup, person buying truck is
Not happy so he sells my truck to negative customer.
While working on truck, negative customer starts engine
While in gear and he is run over by truck. Dragged
By the truck hundreds of feet down and across road.
Pinned under front wheel and on a fence the neighbors
Pulled him out. Three ribs broken, he comes home, and is
Dead within months of truck running him over.
His negative impact on me hurt and cost me my
Job. Truck kills him six years latter.
    Now that's Zen.

I have a problem with this narrative. It focusses too much on succes and overcoming in stead of just being. There is a trap there. I felt pretty good about losing 10 pounds, until my friend told me he lost 20 pounds in the same time. Focussing on your "succes" means focussing on a story and anything that undermines that story is a threat. So celebrating your successes has a problem. If you reward yourself for "good" behaviour, you are giving the message you need to "do" or "achieve" to even get love from yourself. In stead, just compassionately look at what is happening to you.

I don't get it. If something isn't right for you, or you had a bad experience, how are you NOT to have negative thoughts about it? I don't care for the "positive thinking"...seems forced, and lots of denial and pretending.
