Prince Adam is the name somebody came up with in the 1990's. I think I would name an 18th century French prince something like Henri. I think the pink roses are so soft and delicate with the shade of yellow. Red would be too much.
Walk-reading was my favourite activity as a teenager, right after reading in bed and reading in the school library. People REALLY do think it's your first time doing it and that you'll die within ten seconds without their intervention. But then again people seem to not understand the concept of peripheral vision in general. Anyway, the dress looks great! Loving the idea of adult Belle just reworking her dresses, especially since her father was a diy engineer; making new things with what you have on hand is definitely her family culture.
Lovely outfit. I really liked Fanny's diaries and letters too. For someone of her class to move in the circles she did was pretty unusual but so pleased that her diaries survived. Her dad's diary was really interesting too.
Read-walking or walk-reading is the best! In high school, I used to volunteer at the hospital once a week and it was a 45-minute walk to get from school to the hospital... 5 minutes longer if I read as I walked. Now I read on the Elliptical - a good book makes the hour fly by! I have a job that involves a lot of reading but also a lot of sitting - most weeks see me at some point strolling around the building, book in hand, as my behind gets tired of sitting 😂
Love that you created this additional backstory for Belle after her story concludes! This dress is gorgeous, and I love those unique sleeves. I'd also enjoy hearing more about your thoughts on the differences between the Laughing Moon and Fig Leaf patterns you've worked with. Benefits and drawbacks of each?
I love this video! I appreciate all the detail in the backstory and explanation of the construction. I find you're narration soothing and the dress came out beautifully! 💛
Those sleeves are so gorgeous!!!!!! Oh and before I forget; Thank you for also not liking the live action movie (What on earth where they thinking????!!!!) Your Regency Belle dress is so beautiful, and I can lively imagine Belle and prince/beast living in England.
I want to make a yellow gown, too, but am holding out for the perfect yellow and white striped fabric [NOT seersucker!]. I am going to use pinky orange as an accessory color. I think Isabella Thorpe calls it "callicoat" or something like that.
I never understood why people claim B&B takes place in the 18th century. The costumes scream mid 19th century I know twitter thinks there was no royals after the French revolution.... History tells there was kings and emperors, princes etc throughout the 1800s in France

I love the idea of creating a character costume from a different decade of their life. The dress looks beautiful!

Walk-reading definitely was part of my daily life during my university days :) Literature students!!
This is absolutely lovely! The story behind it is great and it totally evokes Belle without being a direct copy of the animated movie!

Yes!! I love reading on the stationary bike and treadmill!!
I used to walk-read to school when I was 11-12. Peripheral vision rocks.
Stunning dress, another lovely video, thank you.
I'm thinking about a 1790's Flynn Ryder. :D
That would suit him

I’m planning a video on spencer jacket patterns by both of them and I’ll go into + and - of each in detail!
This is gorgeous! I love the concept, too 💕.
Lovely dress and great backstory!
So pretty
The prince isn't given a name in the translation of Madame de Villeneuve's story that I have read.
You have no idea how it warmed my heart to see someone actually refer to Villeneuve rather than Beaumont.
Oh my goodness, I love your soft, romantic & lovely gown. Also, your hat is fab.
Beautiful! I love the concept behind this, as well.
Thank you!!
This is amazing. I love the back story so much too 🌹 and I agree that I always thought the rose was pink

Ooooh, that will be so pretty!!
Where did you get you hat? I know you said it it I couldn’t find it in the links. Your Belle dress is better than the animated film version IMO
Timely Tresses is where I got my hat!

The story was written in the 1740s.
His name is Adam. Your welcome 🤓
I saw that he got that name in a video game version! But she never calls him that in any of the movies, lol
They have no stays because they are supposed to be trollops!!
Belle doesn’t have any on, either 😅
I heard you are expected to sew skirts from bottom to top🤯
Lol, maybe I’m doing it right even though I always think I’m sewing them the wrong way!
