  • With the severe droughts of the 1970s, the Senegalese mangrove forests lost about 40% of their surface area and their brackish water show one of the highest salt concentrations in the world.
But in recent years, more and more thunderstorms have mixed with saltwater ponds. The mangroves spontaneously reclaim certain areas. Wherever the mangrove is preserved or restored, wild life explodes.
Thanks to the resilience of nature and the will of men who collectively replant trees to accelerate the movement, the renaissance of the mangroves of the Saloum Delta and Casamance is underway.
