I love my Acty Street! Most of my friends are shocked most by how much interior space it has, you don’t expect to have a foot of clearance over your head climbing in. It also sounds pretty nice for driving like a go-cart lol, and mine doesn’t even have one of the aftermarket exhausts.
Love Kei trucks and vans, I think it's smart what Japan did inventing the Kei class. Don't understand why car manufacturers can't make compact 4wd/AWD vans and trucks adapted to North America. The only suv that we got was the Honda Element, and they killed it off. If Honda or Toyota was to sell something like that again I would run to the dealership and buy one. Love your Acty, looks great 😃👍
I live in America and decided I'm going to get one of these vans. 60-65mph top speed would be beneficial for me because I have a heavy foot and have gotten some bad speeding tickets. I also like how ridiculous this thing looks compared to your modern-day vehicles 😂 I love it! Thanks for the video. You did a great job 👏
im glad this gave you some insight on these fun vans! hope you find what you are looking for :) im sure it will help with not getting speeding tickers lol, and even in japan i get stares from people because these are kinda rare here too! if anything there might be more now in the US being driven then here...lol safe riding. and thanks for watching!
@SarahKaneOMW Thanks! Cleared customs and saw it at the port already, looks sweet. It is for sure, a mix between Asia and Hawaii. Okinawa cleaner though. :) Really want to visit Okinawa again, Naha was so cool, the caves and amazing castles!
Good day to you! I am a grandpa rider on HONDA motorcycle from Japan. Enjoying camping ,touring and upload video. Your MINI VAN video is so nice! Awesome! Full supported ! Have a nice day my friend!
@@SarahKane247 Cool!! Since you live in Japan, I was wondering where you actually bought your Acty's? I am in Europe and most cars on actions and sites like CarFromJapan seem to be in questionable shape. Especially the ones at actions seem almost too cheap. I'm looking for a really clean Acty (Street) automatic, but can't imagine Japanese people are buying and selling these gems at actions or export-only websites.
@@boerenbrommer since im in okinawa (island south of mainland japan) the options for these older kei vans are slim. I got mine from a car dealership in tokyo. I found it online though..but since the dealership had it i know they put work on it to be able to sell in person, and they got the registration done. Plus i asked a bunch of questions and asked to see more photos. If you find a good importer they should have people in japan to be doing all the mechanical work for them to make sure its in good condition before shipping out. I would hope atleast haha. happy shopping!
I love the roof rack you used! I want to get one for my van but cant seem to get a solid answer on which ones work, do you happen to remember what its called or where I could find it? Thanks!
OK Sarah, now I drive a Scion xB. Very much like you Honda Street van. I love the 5 speed tranny. I don't like all of the "driving Aids" that are now on the market. Driving a car is a full time job,not just a casual situation. I don't like driving on super highways any more, so your van would be perfect for me. I like to add things to my car making it my car, not everyone's car. I hope you keep it.
What is the length of the cargo space with seats laid down. Thinking of getting one for camping but I'm 5'10" and want to make sure I have room to lay down in the back.
Hi Sarah What is the exact year and model of your van? How is it for constant 60 mile per hour (100 km per hour) highway driving? Just curious, what kind of business do you have and run? Steve (67 yrs) Manitoba
Hello, 1999 HH4 model! I don’t go over 90km 😅 no need in okinawa, only on the express way I go up to 90, day to day driving I go max 60-65km. I own a cafe!
The safety complaints are largely overrated. It's not going to be a Volvo, but it's not the "insta-death" that everyone keeps claiming. The small size and fairly low center of gravity allows it to steer around accidents when other cars would just have to accept it. I mean, if you have a "freeze" response to fight, flight, or freeze, then no, probably not for you, but if you react well to traffic hazards I'd always take a vehicle that allowed me to maneuver around the hazard then have to hope I survive pile driving into it, and I've personally steered around potential accidents that might've killed me in a larger, less maneuverable vehicle. This is a much more controversial perspective, but I also think airbags are overrated. I've seen lots of dashcams of real crashes and they almost never seem to do anything but freak out the driver and cause them to veer off and make the wreck worse. I've personally witnessed someone (like, I was physically there watching it happen) getting hit, having airbags deploy, and being so shaken up by the airbag deploying and having a big pillowcase in his way that he drove into another car. For most accidents that would realistically occur and aren't head on collisions at 60 mph, you should be fine. Not for dailying on the highway, but certainly fine for occasional brief highway runs in the slow lane for sure.
Thank you for your very very in depth response to this video. Like I stated this is my personal opinion to how I feel. You may find them overrated but it be true. The airbags are not the only safety concern. I've lived mainly in Japan and drove in America for only a few years so that is where my opinion comes from. I've seen HORRIBLE "smaller" accidents with regular vehicles. So to think of me in a kei van in a smaller accident vs an "american" car is not something I would like to test out. Just isn't worth it for me. To each their own though! If thats something you have confidence in and trust in other drivers then ok. Not all accident you can have a response to, excellent driver or not. I understand the love for these vans and see people importing them all the time. This video is to show off its greatness but also advise buyers to think about safety too.
@@MrMiddleWick No, that's actual critical thinking, hard to come by these days. Go hug your airbag, it'll fix all your problems and make you magically safe if you wish upon a star and believe hard enough.

thank you~ yeah i think the steering wheel is my favortie addition to it :)

Great video Sarah. You just convinced me to look and get one for myself. Thanks
its the best vehicle i've owned yet! happy searching!
I don’t know why but the footage while driving seemed faster then what it maybe was, made me super anxious.
haha! its the wide angle lens making it swoosh by faster. yes i was going around 60kmh which is about 40mph
Sweet Van ❤nice video, love the details. Lol - ‘soda can’ was funny and yet honest
Great vid and van. Picking mine up this week, in Hawaii. Nice to see Okinawa, went there 5 years ago. 👌
