Thanks so much! The Leap Pad is getting more press in my point of view I haven't heard much of the Innotab though which was troubling me. I did end up buying the Innotab and was contemplating returning for the leap pad but now I know I made a great choice! Thank you!!!
I just did a video as well detailing the two choices. From a "media" standpoint, I also agree that the InnoTab is the most... iDevice-like choice which I think is what you were demonstrating here.
We bought the Inotab, and also bought the Vtec camera to go with it, it plugs into the Inotab to take pictures and video's and can download them onto your Inotab.
I bought the Innotab for my daughter. You can download music and movies for you child to watch. I've heard that the Leap Pad is good too but I prefer Vtech products.
@DenmiSama We did compare all the features in the print version of our publication. The reason I did this review was to compare --side by side -- the same thing on both platforms. This is not a comprehensive review, but it does show a weakness in the LeapPad.
Although valid points - The Inno-Tab has a SD slot which you can upgrade well beyond 2GB. You can also add converted movies & personal music selection to the InnoTab by writing them to that SD card. You cant add your childs favorite DVD movie to the Leappad. Also there is no headphones jack on the Leappad. so be ready to hear it on those trips in the car. But as stated they have almost no apps at this point. And the touch screen is off so you have a hard time selecting your app.
Forgot to mention Leappad prices doubled recently - to close to half the price of an iPad :0 That makes the Innotab less than half the price - I think that's significant!
if we are going to base our decision to purchase your child's Christmas present via this video, I think it is not a the best review. i believe that leappad explorer has e-books that can enhance math, geography capabilities our our kids and order to know and track whether he/she needs improvement in certain area - a learning path is available. Obviously there are some features that Innotab has too. And IPAD is for grown ups and the two tablets perfect for our kids. We just have to choose.
I must have picked the wrong week to price check. It was around 3 weeks before Christmas. I did not make this up - I would probably have bought the Leappad instantly if I saw it for $99.
Yeah because I wasn't going to buy one for my son because I thought it would cost too much being relatively new so I told him if he finds one I will buy it. So one trip to target he walks up to me with the box and says ,"here daddy" did a price check and it was $99 and also the only one on the self. I heard another kid down the aisle yell "oh, crap!"
be careful about this review. it only talks about one "weakness" on leappad explorer vs innotab when there are truly maerny strengths and advantages leappad has over innotab, ie built-in camera, larger app library selection(over 100 apps for leappad vs innotabs 40). leappad also has a much larger 2 gb built-in memory hard-drive vs innotab 64 mb.
It does have headphones I'm looking right at one now. The reason why I went with the leappad is because leapfrog has more support. Vtech has a bad hobby of making a product getting your kid into it and dropping the product line. Leapfrog has made explorer games compatible with the leappad. The leappad has more games and apps period. As for movies I wouldn't expect a device that runs on 4 AAA batteries to run a movie that long that is why I have dvd players in the headrest of my car
since this review is not a full feature by feature review , it is a poor review at best. it is a biased review at worst. if you base your buying decision on this review, your are not fully informed.
This is a terrible review. If kids don't have the patience to wait 10 seconds for a screen to load then they're not ready for either tablet. I think you should have reviewed more about the apps and the capabilities rather than the speed and paint app alone.
Thank you for this review! Innotab it is for my son's Christmas present! I can't wait to play with it!

Omg... thank you so much!!! I have been looking for a good review for a few weeks now! Thanks again!
Thanks! Makes me feel better about my purchase as Christmas gift! I was unsure why there was such a price difference!!
We bought the Inotab, and also bought the Vtec camera to go with it, it plugs into the Inotab to take pictures and video's and can download them onto your Inotab.
I am very glad i decided on the Innotab after watching your video!
Great Review!!! Just wish you covered more features!

Thanks Warren - your video really helped me decide between the two for my 5 year old. She likes drawing so the Innotab is the one for us :)
Thanks for the review - just wish you would have reviewed other features as well.
wow there really is a major difference in the art programs...thanks for this review

I don't understand I bought mine for $99 6 months ago from target. Out the door about $109 with 2 year warranty. I really think you are incorrect.
I have a Leapad but I don't know where it is

If it wasn’t tied then you should have like two phones go on Clock and then start the dark watch
I LIKE INNOTAB!
pls tell me ..wich is better??
Innotab is better are u still here?
This thing has always cost $100 you probably looked on ebay when there was a huge demand. Around the time you made this post I bought mine for $100
Don't base your purchase on this review there is a review by babygizmocompany that is pretty unbiased and she goes through all functions
saw deals on both of these pads selling at on this site called MYLILTOYBOX.
Not a full review. My 3 children all have the LeapPad.
Innotab has mp3 player leappad doesnt
leap pad !
Umm... age group is for 3 to 9! When you grow up you will learn how to read disclosures... and in the mean time learn what a 'disclosure' means!
