- I needed to test fit the Ididit steering column in the Mustang convertible. This is the process I went through to do it.

From you hunting down the screws in the old car, saying what size they are, then I zoomed into the installed screws to see what they looked like…I say thank you for doing half the leg work for me. Now on to the next step, which your measurement is helping out so much.
Basically I have so many dang parts, and from the column gasket to the most insignificant, you are helping me re-inventory/re-find them. Thank you so much.
That is a good job, well done Barry.
Another great video Barry. Since Thursday I re-watch brooklin Pony videos. I'm at part 13. Still a pleasure
Love the video, love the hat! Have to get one or two!
Great video Barry, that install looked a lot easier than the reinstall of my 73 steering column. I''m a big boy and getting under the dash to install those firewall bolts took my a good while to line up and get torqued down. As always, thanks for the video.
Thanks Barry, good job and great information.
Nice descriptive video going to make my installation less guess and more confident install. Thanks Barry your videos are the best most descriptive on you tube for this and many other projects. You are a must for anyone working on these old 64 to 69 mustangs.
Barry thanks for this great video I sure enjoy your channel
Awesome video!
another great job!
Great video sir.
I was thinking about the ididit column for mine when it is ready. :-)
Got the hat thanks and good video for someone wanting to know how to put this still column in and the way to do it thumbs up.
Great video. Very thoughtful. You're a man after my own heart. I say this as a fellow car guy.
THANK YOU...for sharing. Ididit needs to add this video to there product line to help people with there installation. A very nice how-to video.
Thanks Gary.
hi mustang is coming along very good .
Great job thanks.
Hi Joe Daddy I'm Jackdaddy, Nice work you d and knowing what to do. Great video, God Bless
Thanks!
I have that exact 1/4 inch sk set have had for 30 years love that set
I have had this set for 28 years.
Need the gasket boot to prevent water intrusion. Also, not sure about exhaust manifolds or header interference with stererinh shaft until you get to that phase of the build. Great video sir!
This setup is all part of the TCI package. Headers included.
Hi Barry, I really like that grinding disk you referred to it as a bad boy disk it that a nock off of bad dog because I couldn't find it, because the bad dog one was $169.00, ouch
It is Bad Dog. I misspoke. It is impressive.
I'm famous :) - you may already plan to do it on the permanent install, but for an added safety measure, you can either drill or grind a notch on the DD shaft where the set screws tighten down to lock it in place more secure. also, good luck with that rubber seal from CJ's.. dunno if you saw it, but i ripped through mine.. not sure if the column is a larger OD from factory one or of its just not a soft rubber. a little lubrication may help. i'll probably cut one out myself from a sheet of rubber.
Good points. I'll try to remember that at final install.
The Vtuned channel is doing a fastback conversion on a 66 coupe and a drivetrain swap from a 2015 Mustang.
Vtuned is a cool channel. I dig the car alignment frame puller.
Bolts in holes! Bolts in holes! Gotta get my bolts in holes! Lol
Will you be installing the electrical system? I bought the painless for my ‘66 coup. I need to do a bit more work, before I install it. The videos I have been able to find so far have not been great. You make excellent videos and are really great about explaining the details.
I will be installing the wiring harness. Once the engine and transmission is in place. After paint of course.
I have the exact same setup, my concern is that if you look in that slot you can see the shaft and the wiring. The wiring actually rests against this shaft and when you rotate the wheel the wiring and shaft interfere with one another - compare this to your ford original and you'll see there is a plate inside the column to prevent this contact and keep the wiring separate - not very impressed. My solution was to feed wiring sheeth through the hole where the wiring exits and at least it serves as a barrier between the wiring and shaft. Wonder if flaming river does this better?
Looks like a nice column to put in, looked pretty straight forward too 👍 I have a question though. Are you installing the engine for it? If so, with the rod coming off the column, will there be enough clearance for the headers or stick exhaust ? Well done !!
This was all part of the package from TCI. Headers are included. I assume it will all fit together. I will be installing the engine.
Nice video. Is that column 2» wide? I need a lower column mount like that for my custom firewall😊
It's the same size as the original column.
Where could I get this steering column or something similar ? I am working on a project similar to this one! You’ve helped me out a lot thank you!
Ididit is the brand name. Another is Flaming River.
Jo Daddy's Garage would you happen to have the link to this exact bundle that you got that included everything, it is identical to my build, I would greatly appreciate it
@@Omar-sg3on The owner of the car bought this column in a kit that included all the suspension pieces from TCI.
Iam second woohoo, wouldn't miss them for nothing 👍
i am first to see it yoohoo
What is the story behind the suit on the back wall of your garage?
My old racing suit from when I raced at a dirt track.
Ok thanks Barry, so are they really $169
I got mine in a package deal when I was at SEMA. Not sure what the discount was overall.
Maybe you've said it before somewhere, but what is the story behind the name Jo Daddy?
I talk abut it in my description video for the page. My daughter's name is Joelle. We call her Jo. I'm her dad, so I just put it together.
Hello!!
Question what's the part number?
If I didn't show it in the video, I don't remember.
@JoDaddysGarage thank you, all your video's are very helpful in my mustang restauration
I hope your exhaust manifold does't get in the way ,
This car will have headers. Should be fine.
You’re going to regret that decision. You should have waited until you gotten the engine in the car first because you’re going to have to move that I know because I had to on my 65 fastback
This is just a mock up. It all has to come apart anyway.
I"m an idiot because I can't read Ididit...
