Audi a3 8p - fitting q3 temperature control unit | navi player radio / climate control removal

Sorry for poor quality video but i hope it will help you. In this video i’ve put q3 temperature unit in my 2012 8p. You don’t need special tools for the job. I’ve made 4 keys of an old credit card to remove the navi, used a plastic pry tool and a electric da sander. As a tip, you need to loosen the grab handles and eventually cover them in some tape for protection and easier fit for unit. I’ve used 280 grit sandpaper on the sander. Little , by little sand the unit until it fits perfectly. Cheers!

You need some kind of wiring adaptors to make it work on the pre facelift

Alex R. It’s been a journey mate and I’m still not there aha. But I’ve taken the wiring loom out of my old car and I’m going to be wiring it in my new Audi. Using ElsaWin for diagrams has been the hardest thing to do when you don’t know how to use the programme. 😭😭

tried it on my A3 from 2010, after putting the cable connections in the unit and start the car all kind of alarms went off and the car completly died

@@jeffreynabbe8672 I’ve just installed the exact same one in my Audi A3 8p 2011 and everything worked out ok but the airbag light has came on since I’ve installed it did you have that same issue ? If so what did you do to sort it ?

@@fabiocamilleri9591 i did not have an airbag light on when installed the unit. But if im correct, the wiring of the car is different in an 2010 and 2011 model. I have installed comfort door light in every door, so when i exit the car the floor in light up and a red warming light goes on. The way for these to install os different on 2010 and 2011 model, so maybe its the same with the unit? Have u tried putting back the old one? If the light is off by the old one you know for sure there is something going wrong with the new one.

Yes, but not plug n play. You need an adaptor to make the ac work :)

Almost :) q3 unit is a bit bigger and you need to sand its sides (2-3mm i guess) for a perfect fit. Sand it little by little , testing everytime.
