I prefer Alien over any sequel because it was so different for the time. I need to watch the Romulus trailer, because (imho) it's been downhill since. I'm hoping for a return to form on this latest installment.
I much prefer Alien over any of the sequels! Although I love the world (or should I say universe) building of the sequels. If you’ve never seen it, there’s an Alien 3 ASSEMBLY CUT made in the 2000’s by Fox using all the unused footage and cut storylines. It’s AMAZING 🤩
I find ALOT of sexual undertone in the movie, possible that it might be a love dichotomy, if you look at it from the right angle. There is definitely a duality and the visuals provide the criteria for a dualistic relationship, even if it is only in the mind. It occurs to me as a story of self discipline against the rote complications of interpersonal relationships and the archetypical mindsets of latently incompatible units (alien/human). But is it actually lends ALOT to the state of lust - not just sexual lust. It's a beautiful film that I think presents a few metaphorical points. Every piece of art on the planet has as many interpretations as there are viewers. That's the beautiful thing about life.
