Hand washing every day. The only time a dishwasher would be handy is when you entertain and put out all the fine dishes and cutlery, clean up is challenging, so throw things in the dishwasher.
I actually was pro hand washing only. But then I learned that the temperature the water can get to in the dishwasher allows for better disinfection which can’t happen with hand washing. So I’ve mostly switch over.
I love washing dishes by hand because it relaxes me to have my hands submerged in the warm, fragrant, soapy water! I never leave dirty dishes stacked in the sink, and I wash as I cook! I store my clean dishes in the dishwasher. It's been that way for years! To each his own!😊
So mee. I can’t cook while dishes are in the sink so my kitchen is always clean. My dishwasher is a storage unit for my pans 😂 Also if I move I give myself like a day and everything needs to be in its place. No boxes in sight in 24Hrs 😌

Hand washing dishes is definitely my preference. Primary reason is my dishes don't pile up enough to even fill the dishwasher so why waste energy, water, etc. Secondly, I wash dishes better than the dishwasher .period! Cool out Jack....
I organized everything in the boxes by the rooms that they were to be unpacked in and this made it a lot easier when unpacking. I also got rid of a lot of stuff that we didn't need to take with us and this also helped a lot. I hate clutter and if it's not being used then we either donate it or toss it.

My back is hurting now, but my house is in order everything in its place and I feel good.

I'm in the middle. Initially, unpack what you'll need everyday. Then unpack as you need stuff. Anything unpacked after 6 months gets trashed...sight unseen. Of course you keep tax returns, etc.

Greetings, the only time i/we use our dish washer is if we have family/friends over and the group is large. I am now a seasoned person (not older, but seasoned). We actually wash by hand and use the dishwasher for draining. Have a blessed day beautiful people.
I totally get the dishwasher thing. I use mine for storage but have to run it once a month so it doesn’t break down. It uses too much water for dishes for one so I don’t use it. If you guys have kids, I think you will transition to regular dishwasher use.
I've been in 2 homes, an apartment & a townhouse, the past 28 years and rarely used the dishwashers. I tend to store cookware and food containers in them. 😆

As a matter of fact, one visit with my grandson from MI, he came and used it only to flood it out. I love the way you interact with one another.
I understand what he's talking about when he says if you haven't used it in 30 days. Stored it away. The understanding is if you haven't used it then you don't need it everyday. But then purse makes sense as well if you take everything out of the boxes then you kind of know where everything is but then there's a lot of things that you don't use that you can store away if that makes sense.

I prefer hand washing. I used my dishwasher as a drying tool. I put it on the dry setting & the put them up.

You are quite cute together. Next move, try labelling the boxes, especially the boxes containing the small items, so that you can find them. Unpack as quickly as possible. Anything left in the boxes and not used, throw out or give away. Always great learning to LISTEN to one another. TT, I am like you, I wash by hand; however, in these times it is water economical to wash the dishes with the dishwasher. I am trying, you can as well. Stay strong in your love and appreciation for one another. Keep safe. ❤️

Yes I couldn’t agree more I’m also a hand washer! So relaxing to me! I feel there is still soap on them when it’s in the dishwasher. To each there own though! Happy for you both on your new place!

TT I wash dishes by hand everyday, here is the thing I need everything out-of-the-box and in its place, I went through an ordeal with my stove and refrigerator a six months for my stove a year for my refrigerator thanks to Home Depot but I digress.#inconvenience😡🤔😉💜
