Freelander 1 is bad, wa! We purchased it for KES 950K and within 1.5 years, we had spent KES 1.2M in repairs. We sold it for KES 650K after 1.5 years. We were lucky to even find a buyer. However the looks inside are awesome, handling is really nice. But, the car was always in the garage. We once replaced tail light bulb and the car could not start. It had to be reset. Removed battery terminals because it had a welding repair. We had to call an expert to reset the car. Leave this car alone
This one can ruin someone financially. They are only good when new or less than 5 years old. The tales we have seen or read about the car are horrifying. If has the looks and the interior looks well built and won't give up soon.
Whilst i agree with you on the other cars, i beg to differ on the Nissan Sunny QG15. That car is a bullet proof, especially the 5 speed manual one with the Nissan Ecology Oriented Technology. It is as reliable as a Toyota Corolla, simple, cheap to maintain and dependable. Just like any other vehicle, it has to be maintained religiously to keep it running smoothly. However you nailed it on the VW Golf TSI, that's an endless money pit... 😊

That is a newer version. We haven't experienced it yet to conclusively give a verdict on its reliability. Lets wait till their numbers increase around.

I had a golf mk 5 gti … too quick but man the gear box broke down and fixing it almost ran me down.
It's a good car when it's running. Once it breaks down, it becomes a money pit.
