Good luck Todd. I know I struggle with low humidity in my home because we heat our family room with a wood stove. Maybe run a humidifier? 🎅🏻🤶🏻🎄💚🙃

That growing wall system, looks like it can grow plenty of leafy greens. Lighting is important.

7:33 Todd, is that rosemary in the hanging planter to your left? If so, what do you guys use it for? Does Lisa use it in any cooking?
I have had very little success with my Green Stalkin the past three years, and I suspect the problem must be the Miracle-Gro soil I used (would not recommend!). But the transplanted sprig of rosemary my sister gave me has absolutely taken OVER the tier I planted it in. It’s basically the only thing thriving in any of my Green Stalk tiers, besides a desert succulent. I need to find a use for this stuff.

Yeah, Miracle Grow soil seems to be trash. 👎🏼

You will need about 2-300 watts for a tomato plant to get subpar fruit, although the window helps. Propagating them will be fine, although I don't understand why you would do that during the winter since they grow so quickly. Lettuce and herbs are about what I would expect from your setup, things that do well in low light.
A par meter to measure light intensity and looking up needed values for each plant will take the guessing out of it.
Plants also dump a lot of moisture into the air. I have experienced mold and rust without a dehumidifier.

Yeah I didn’t bring it in this year. Didn’t get used enough to warrant the work

my loft complex just retired our maitence guy and hired another guy within the building. Our 'workout' room is 1994 spiders growing in it. I want to rennovate that space. And So I am fishing for ideas - Im glad your channel is newly experimenting on this grow wall - it would be a great renovation for apartment complexes! If you think this is viable, I would love your consulting on making it happen. ___ The better the proposal we send to the building manager the better shot we have out growing our own veggies!!! Specs? The building is 5 floors, 17 units each floor. Your wall size would probably feed the building?

Cucumbers don't require as much light as many others. Perhaps you can find more lower light varieties of plants for winter.

I was assuming Remy was short for Remington. 😮

You can add some light, that's not your biggest problem. Your biggest problem is that all the water from the upper pots drains down into the lower pots. I couldn't even begin to IMAGINE the salt buildup in those lower pots. They're really tiny too which doesn't help. Then you've had problems with flow. The ones down below that just got wet with no run off have to be absolutely loaded with salts.
With so little soil, you're basically growing hydroponically. This is a poorly engineered setup for that type of thing. It's no wonder the lower pots can't support anything.
