Great video, i'd recomment that after you finish the IntersectionGuessr maps of the US states, you do them for European countries too

arlon is just over the border in belgium, and the .lu domain you saw also said "esch" which is the southern city in lux 😅 watching you look for arlon in france was funny lol

God that Poland round had to be the most awful possible location for a speedrun. After round 4 I was like “he’s gonna do it!” And then Poland is just like “where’s the most rural and difficult place we can drop him.” Ugh

It was cruel, as most of Poland has good signage, and it is pretty easy to pin-point. But not in this case sadly.

Eh, not even that bad in terms of Poland, he had Ciechanów hint, but even though it's a decently sized town it's unlikely for someone from abroad to ever hear about that. There are way more rural areas near the eastern border though and e.g. Japan can be much harder in some remote areas.

3:57 I don't know how much it helps but these are the municipalities signs so the cities on these are usually a bit larger. In this case Faaborg is by far the biggest of the cities you come across in Denmark. Also if you look on the back of the sign you get the neighboring one as well so you know it is between them.

So that big yellow sign at 9:16 could have helped, but it's a stretch. It said "objazd do Ciechanowa". Now, you'd need to know enough Polish grammar to understand you're not looking for a town called Ciechanowa but one called Ciechanów, as it means "detour to Ciechanów" with a case ending. Ciechanów is in an area where you'd expect -owo, not -ów endings, so already making it tricky. Still, Ciechanów is findable, it's a sizeable town. It's especially findable if you note that the soil is sandy, which usually means the area north of Warsaw. Now, if you got all that, the map on the big sign allows you to figure out where you are.

Really liked your 25K in all US states series, I think you can try 25K in all official countries or even all their states

It shouldn't because there aren't even that many marked roads in Denmark

Do you ever use the Checkpoint feature in cases where you may need to go back to a previous spot? I keep forgetting it's there lol

The Arlon mess-up really shows a flaw in the way the French signs point out towns outside of the country. Based on the sign alone, you had no way of knowing if it was a city inside or outside of France. Although in this case Arlon is also the official name of the town, they also often only have the French name of a town on the signs and then you are not always sure if it's the town you are aiming for. Many countries, like my own, have in recent years made the effort of using only the offical names of the towns on the signs as to avoid confusion.

You know, after further research I maybe need to get back a little bit on my statement. Turns out there are many places where they do point out the name in the offical language and not (only) the French one. But looking at some signs they have sometimes now idea how it's spelled in the foreign language and they spelled Kortrijk like Kortrikj xD
