wish Tyler, Felix and DOC would try Smite Arena together. and yes LoL is oudated at this point. they only care about Conquest/DOTA map and oudated combat. no fun game modes like Arena, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill... they are still there because they were one of the first on MOBA market, because Riot support and because of content creators. most MMORPG and MPBA studios need to watch the Kings avatar animation and get some inspiration from there

As someone who played Smite before ever getting into league, I can say that Smite's combat isn't really any more impressive or in-depth than League's. The only real difference is the perspective and specific champion abilities.
