best Trance producer ever! Thanks Ferry
Nice. Thanks for sharing this episode. I always wondered how Ferry does all of his songs. He's the reason why I want to be a DJ. I hope that I'll be able to make my own remixes and eventually release some albums, just like he does.
After 9 years, hows going your project?
ferry corsten Ain't No Stoppin, I love your song man, I'm using it as ringtone, magical, great attractive sound, and Luxy Taipei Taiwan is where I heard it, really great job.
Total respect! 😍😍 👏👏👏
What makes this (and, logically, Ferry Corsten) so amazing is the fact that the master keyboard is the JP8000. Still. So many years after VST:s made hardware into a "nostalgic thing" as Ferry puts it. As a trance producer and old-time studio worker, I must say that it is not just a personal thing: Some old stuff has a sound that will keep them alive in studios worldwide for a long time. And the JP8000 is a good example. I still regret selling mine, even after having two newer synths that replaced it, I would have used it even today if I would have kept it. And I just love the thought of artists like Ferry Corsten and Benno of Rank 1 probably feeling the same...
Oh, and with that mentioned: Anyone inserting "Darude - Sandstorm" comments here... What was the name of that original JP8000 patch again? You know which one, and you know how it sounds. (No, not that raspy lead, that one is Darude's secret. The other one...)
Andreas Viklund my friend recently bought the jp8000, and he loves it, probably rightly so. What is it about that synth that makes it so good, in your opinion? And what did you personally love about it?
It is pretty much like saying why you love a certain car model and would want that above others. All subjective. What I liked about it personally was how easy it was to create custom patches with. I had the Yamaha AN1x (which was quite a challenge to make patches on, since I didn't know very much about the way analogue synthesizers worked) and machines such as the Korg MS2000 and Oberheim OB-12. On the JP8000, pretty much all parameters were available directly as knobs or switches. It was a great synth for live performances thanks to the controls. Compared to the complex AN1x, the JP8000 made it easy to understand the synthesis modelling. Compared to the MS2000, the controls were large and well organized. And compared to the OB-12, it was a very comfortable piece of hardware. Lighter and smaller.
But above all other things, it had a sound which was way beyond the other synths of its time. The supersaw was an amazing addition. I can't point out why it sounded so great in my ears. It just did. Powerful and razor sharp. It was simply perfectly suited for what I wanted to do at that time, and even though there are a lot more options available today, I miss the JP8000. It is not the best synth in the world, but it remains the favorite synth of all those I have owned throughout the years...
And with that said, there are obviously many other producers who felt the same way about old blue wonder... I sold mine to another Swedish trance producer, and if it was possible, I would buy it back instantly if I was given the chance. Some of the best songs I made back in the days, wouldn't have been made without the JP8000.
From the sounds of it (both what he is saying and the music he is now making) he doesn't actually use the sounds of the JP8000 - he is just using it as the "master" MIDI keyboard i.e. to play his VSTs. He admitted himself that he basically keeps all that stuff mostly for sentimental reasons...
i own a jp8080 and it sounds nowhere near as good as my viruses do i duno why they use jp8000/8080s theres far better machines out there
beautiful, Ferry Corsten Number One
Absolutamente extraordinário!
Those chairs are extremely comfortable! ;-)
You are a LEGEND Ferry!!

Very cool episode of WKNDR. Keep them coming Ferry!
wow...i've never thought you got such gems in your drawers :) beautiful
One of the idea to buy the JP-8000 - its a great MIDI-master controller! =) So many knobs and faders! I using JP-8000 in same way)) More than this - its SOUND. Im really love it! I can make with JP-8000 everything - sweet leads, soft airy pads, retro strings, massive basses, retro sci-fi fxs of the 70s, 8-bit a-like blips and blops/Famicom/NES-sounds, ethnic instruments, nice electronic percussion and drums ... Everything. In right hands this is a totally beast! =)
P.S. Thank you, Ferry, for sharing such a nice content and of course again thank you for your great Music! Keep it Up! TRANCE = IT`S NICE!

Too, too cool! Wish I had the room to hook up my keyboard to my laptop setup.

Nice too see you still got the Novation Supernova 2 keyboard, ;D
Didn't see it after you moved to your new studio, I also still got mine too ;)
I'm never getting rid of it, yet you chose the JP8000 as your main keyboard, interesting ;D
Ferry seems like the nicest guy. I would love to meet him at after one of this sets!

@Youn Kim Me too. I've been a big fan of Ferry For a long time, and he's the reason why I have the dream to be a DJ. And I hope my dream of meeting him will come true in the future. That would be awesome!
super xx
would love to get a studio up to this level someday
Cool :)
you had me laughing so hard in the end with all the old analogue gear. i got rid of my fantom x8 in 2010, now my only keyboard in my studio is the M-audio CTRL49 . dont think i will never buy another hardware synth.
Of course is very easy when you know what you are doing
Before the word vlog got famous, ferry apparently founded it first.
Echt ziek dit man
I love his music ferry corsten yo I make uplifting trance
eu falo minhas track amadoras aki so com o Synth1 e to feliz : [
It's called Melodyne, by a company called Celemony.
Hello..............God of Electronica. !!
"Feel It" :)
Looks to me like a Herman Miller Aero chair... if it is then they're ultra comfy :-)
Ferry, I can play the piano (well a bit!) but could sit at that computer for 10 years and never come up with those amazing tunes. It's the musician not the instrument and you are up there with the best

@ferrycorstenofficial what sort od hardware synths would you recommend for dance music?coz there are too many out there... virus, nord's,alesis Andromeda,JP-8000.. i mean i cant possibly own all, do help thanks
surprisingly modest...
the program that uses for change the note of the vocals, how do u spell it? Melodie? or how? thanks, i really need this one!;P
Samples? What are you talking about? In the screen in the video you see how he builds up the track, I don't see any samples? Or what is your definition of "samples" exactly?
The Prodigy - Break and Enter?
hey Ferry your muzic is verry nyce( Diss)
Lol all I learned from this was that he put reverb on the vocals and some delay... hmm never knew that before
make more L.E.F music!
CUBASE RULES!
what is the exact name of the software Ferry is referring to ? The "Meloai" , "Meloday" , "Melody" ... I googled buy I could not find it ! I really need it , anyone know of it ? Any link to the software producer ?
+Shippingiran Markaz Kharid az Kharej it's a program called Melodyne
can someone link the Melody or Melodie ? VST ? :) the vocal thing :D
hi Ferry , what kind of plugin you use on vocals ? ..... THNKS
what song is it in the intro?
What program do you use?
song ? last part
What vsts does ferry use? I am a producer, and I want to get the vsts he uses. You should do a video of ferry explaining the vsts and effects he uses.
Anonymousrules12 what he use is this A GOOD SENSE OF SOUND DESIGN That is what you actually need to produce Electronic music . No matter what VST you have it's all about sound designing i.e. Creating your OWN synth Patches .
please give me one of your old keyboards you dont use ! hhh
Dude! Thats a lot of keyboards! I had a bunch of old school yamaha keyboards until my old landlord stole em!
What music production software is Ferry using?
And the dust-cats? :P
Effects like Delay or Reverb never go along with the dry sound. always go as external fx and to the send part of the track, all wet.
Hey Nathan,

🫠☺️🙃
can i have one of your keyboards?
wow, 95% of Jupiter 8's and Prophet 5's are sitting idle, in some rich guys cupboard :(
Do you really think they would use those black chairs if they were not comfortable? Trust me, those chairs are great, very comfortable and ... expensive haha! ;-)
Cubase, 100% sure
ableton live
I Wonder why All the Producers use those same Black Chairs? Doesn't look very comfortable to me
Haha, probably because he knew it would be on camera. Guarantee 9 times out of 10 his studio looks like mine. With empty beer bottles and he's sitting there in underpants trying to figure something out.
A 0.01% insight into how he does it :)
Are you kidding ??? Ferry has music in the style of trance. And the remix is not his style. He is self-sufficient ! So you yourself will have to do. =)
