I wondered for many years who was singing the song when I was getting older. Well, I know who it is now and I have been looking for it forever. I love and appreciate the songs from the 60s all the way up to the 90s. Well, some of the 2000s as well. Some of the new stuff is crap. I bet that you are asking yourself, what do I know about this music. Well, I was born in 78 and thanks to my mother, and grandmother who has left this earth for turning me onto good music. I am trying to get my three nieces into old school music. They love the new stuff that is pretty nonsense. Well, my baby niece believe it or not Love James Brown and she is only eight years of age.

We all know good music when we hear it. Like you, I listen to music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and early 00's. Music nowadays is just noise. Even some of the younger generation like my 15-year-old niece can't deal with today's music. Thank goodness we have UA-cam, Spotify, Pandora, etc...to go back and listen to the music we grew up on.

I was 23 years old when this song hit the charts. Has it been 30 years already? Sherrick was a very talented singer and we can only wonder how much farther he would have gone. He could have been the next Luther Vandross! Such a sad way to go for him, on a beach in the dead of winter.

There is nothing like holding someone you love and having this in the background.

I got the hook from the AHa theme tune stuck in my head and was going to head home and try to play it on my Yamaha DX7. I turned on the radio in my car and this song starts playing. I missed my turning, and just kept driving along the coast into the night, listening to this incredible song. Actually, I was born in 1989 in a different country, but this song has a powerful feel to it that takes me back to a time and place I didn't even exist. Can't stop listening!
