My great Grandpa owned most all of it back in the day! Last name Dycus, lived across from the Masonic bldg and was the town blacksmith... like I said "way back in the day!"
As someone who lives in Liberty Hill, it's so incredibly weird to see things like Dahlia Cafe, the Liberty Hill sign, the Water Tower, etc etc. in a video like this.
When my family moved from Liberty Hill in 1954 there were still board sidewalks and hitching rails for to tie up your saddlehorse or your buckboard wagon...Was not unusual to see either...Went to Liberty Hill grade school attended church at the Church of Christ....Both Grandparents lived there---Jack Hays -paternal and R L Greiner--maternal....Still after all these years enjoy going back there because of the great memories...Keep up with the great vids---you will never live long enough to experience all there is to the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a LH resident y'all did. great job of hitting the highlights of the town. I picked this town 12 years ago because it was a small sleepy old town with not a lot going on. Fast forward we now have a Mc Donalds and a Starbucks and they are building here like crazy and honestly its gotten so big its time to move.
Really Great episode. ''Oh my friends life is very good on the road'' quote of the century! 14:35 ''The dogs choke on their barking When they see alligator persons in the bog and fog''. Roky! Saw him live once. I think he's still out there somewhere. So many sides of Texas music. Anybody who has had the pleasure to drive around that state and listen to the different radio stations and see live music knows. Texas holds it's head high in illustrious company. The best regions to find the blood and guts of American roots music. Maybe the greatest. Willie Townes Lightnin' Bob Wills Ray Wylie Stevie and Jimmie Guy Jerry Jeff Janis Robert Earl. The list is endless
@Worlds greatest dude1 Old school ball. I visited w the Marble Falls HC when I picked up their helmets for refurb. A few years back. They had just switched over to that same style of offense and had a horrible year. I told him everyone was passing the ball, so defenders were light and fast. That wing (whatever) was eventually gonna be fruitful against those type of kids. It was. LH has been doing it for a minute and has been super successful.
I’ve had a chicken sandwich from that 1st place and it was the worst thing I’ve ever had. I’ll have to give it another shot cause that burger looks good
Don’t get the appeal of Dahlia’s. Tasted like a generic southern cooking restaurant like Cotton Patch. Was really looking forward to it based upon reviews, but was very underwhelmed.

Man. Weird seeing the sculpture garden at the old high school. We would smoke pot out there before school and at lunch out there in the 90's. LOL.
These videos just keep getting better and better.
I live here & id love to leave ngl. Terrible schools, awful traffic for a town it’s size & massive amounts construction.
Oh you should have stopped at Sharks Burger!!! Although I guess it isn’t technically in Liberty Hill. But DEFINITELY stop by when you do Leander.
Just saw Infamous on their tap wall! My father is the brewmaster. Next time you're in Lake Travis you guys should stop by.
I want to go
Miss home
