- Herman “Cowboy” Douglas came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, where he spoke about being a close friend of Nipsey Hussle, and he started off explaining how he got involved with the Rollin’ 60s. Cowboy spoke about getting arrested for the first time at 16, and he also added that he was doing stand-up comedy at one point. From there, Cowboy explained how he was first introduced to Nipsey Hussle, who he revealed was not involved with the Rollin’ 60s at the time. He then explained how Nipsey started rapping, getting attention, signing and leaving his deal with Epic Records. Cowboy also spoke about Lauren London and Nipsey dating, Nipsey dropping the “Crenshaw” album, and his career continuing to rise. The Cowboy you see in this interview is the same Cowboy you get in person. Last time I went to the Marathon store when Nip was still alive, I came a little early before they opened. He chopped it up with me in the parking lot, kept a look out, made sure everything was cool, told me Sam was on the way, and was just a humble guy. I think he just knew I wasn’t from there and wanted to keep things safe. Sam showed up, opened the doors, let me in, I bought some clothes, and Cowboy took a pick of me in front of the A$I Brinks truck. You can tell he had some influence on Nip and Nip influenced him back. I honestly wish the best for him. TMC

Nipsey's passing makes me so sad like i start crying. I don't even know him like that. I keep forgetting he passed away bc through his music and interviews u feel like hes here. Sigh. I hope his family and loves ones are always doing good and covered with protection and love by god. Life is not easy and we make it way more hard by living in our ego and foolish pride. We all need to work on our relationship with god w.e religion, so we always feel hopeful and protected no matter what. Its hard when you don't get the things you want or don't get it immediately but you need to keep going, trust your instincts, and the process. Please be patient with yourself and others at all times. If ppl or situations test you just think of them as 2 steps below you. Wishing everybody well.

Why Cowboy started banging, I don't know, but I do know the average Black family in Los Angeles cannot afford to live in these areas. Cowboy had opportunities then. LA Dera and Windsor Hills are Black people, who are doctors, attorneys, professors, business owners, advanced degrees, etc. That's the background of those communities. I lived in Los Angeles my whole life. I know. My uncle lives in LA Dera and he is a pediatrician. As for me, I'm just a dumb social worker, so I proudly live in Gardena.
