Just discovered you guys reactions to our stuff.
Thank you so much! Seeing you reactions really makes all the hard work we put into every episode worth it. We can forget that when we've been staring at the same thing for months. It really means everything to us to see you enjoy our work! Sorry we made you sad and named a slug guy after you (unintentionally) :P
Oh, also Joyous Day of Genesis, Kirby!!!!
Love, Abridged Asuna.
YEAH I NEVER EXPECTED THIS TO HAPPEN!!!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! We quote you saying “NoooOOoo” at least once a day lol the characters you’ve voiced have made me laugh the hardest. Thank you for all of the laughs you’ve given me and the world
Awww!!! That's so incredibly sweet!!! I've been checking out a few of your other videos and any time you're like "That's the voice of Asuna" it makes me so happy!!!
Yours will be one of the first channels we check once episode 18 is out. We're currently scripting 18 and will try to have it out as soon as we can. We want it to be perfect for y'all, it is hopefully the season finale after all.
We live with BlazingAzureCrow and FrozenFrost, the creators of Bleach S Abridged. I also showed your channel to them. :P
Keep up the amazing work!!!
Much love!!!
@@xbubblemunkyx I don’t recognize a lot of voice actors, but yours is definitely one of the few I recognize pretty much immediately! I’m just enjoying a video and then BOOM it’s your voice out of nowhere!
I and everyone else already know episode 18 is going to be incredible, you and the team take your time and it shows! No one can complain about the time it takes when the end product is JUST THAT GOOD!
I’ve been learning a lot about bleach thanks to their series! They introduced me to bleach and I just watched episode 27 today and he (Logan) mentioned your immigration situation, so I’m really glad to hear that got resolved!
No, thank you for your contribution in making millions of peoples days better! You make a lot of people smile and for some of them that’s just what they needed.
Ps. I facetimed Kirby while she’s at work and showed her your comment and her face lit up with excitement and she did a little happy dance.
@@theduckgoesmoo Stooooop!!!! You're gonna make me cry!!!
I really appreciate you being able to spot my voice, it's real easy to mix up actors, so that's a huuuuge compliment!
I'm incredibley lucky to be able to spend my life making people laugh. I'm so grateful to our community for making it possible.
Yeah, I was going through my Canadian Permanant Residency then, I'm originally from Scotland (You can hear my real accent as Jericho in 7 Deadly Schmucks Abridged). Now I'm shooting for full Canadian citizenship.
Ahhhh!!! Kirby's the cutest!!! I love her so much!!!
@@xbubblemunkyx yeahhh there’s like 4 voice actors I can recognize between you and Kirito and some teamfourstar guys.
You and the crew EARNED that community! They’ve fallen in love with your work and they wouldn’t have done that if it was anything less than amazing.
Ahhh I’m glad your residency went through even with the pandemic! I remember you as Jericho, I’m pretty sure I was like “wait is that asuna? With an accent?”
Kirby absolutely loves the character you play, I’m pretty sure your voice acting is a big reason for why that is! You might be one of her inspirations for why she wants to try voice acting!
In case you missed it, when Asuna was running to the Tesseract, she wasn't worried she'd get caught. She was worried she wouldn't be able to open the menu

Down side: Still working on NAVIGATING the menu.

Kirito: "Fools rush in."
Leafa: "That was a terrible movie."
Another nod that she wanted to be like Kirito back in the day. She knows movie references.
But hers are all off. She's not someone who's seen a lot of movies, but knows that referencing movies is "cool" and so tries to act like she's seen more than she has.
@@Crazael Which is shown when she incorrectly said "That was the plot of the Lakehouse"
This ending hit me harder than Asuna hit Kirito when he said "Suck it, Rosalia!"
This is underated.
Turned out the death of Rosalia was NOT the deepest he would ever be in a woman.
Have to love how future episodes of SAO Abridged remember and acknowledge everything from the past episodes.
Keeping the timeline straight and consistent without any holes.

Best Running Gag of the Show, hands down.
Omg, that somehow went completely over my head🙈🙈😅😅
That ending was so much f*cking better then what we actually got in the original.
Really they did an amazing job.
Way better.
It's been so long since I watched season 1 that I can't remember what they were talking about exactly. I remember her cover was blown, but not much after that.
@@Narutonarutonaruto85 I made a comment on the actual video explaining it if u wanna go see
@@Narutonarutonaruto85 she admitted she was in love with irl Kirito and was starting to fall in love with Vr Kirito (she wasn't aware they were the same person) and was at first happy because she could move on to a non-incest and normal romance, but that came crashing down when reality set in
@@blackhalo1616 Ah, I should of guessed.
Note that while Kirito said that you dont feel pain in Alfheim, during she save from the world tree Leafa clearly did. Its not that there is no pain, its simply that it is slightly lowered, and Kirito is so desensiticed to pain after SAO he does not even take notice of it anymore.
Which makes what he does later on just even more brutal.
That did get addressed in the original.
Not *slightly,* iirc it's barely a fraction of SAO, which was 1-1 with real world
But if those arrows, say, hurt half as bad as a bee sting, that's still going to be enough to discourage most people
@@Roger44477 Actually, SAO was less than IRL pain. Kirito explains as much when he sets the pain to full, saying that it will be so bad, the physical body will be affected. We actually see the effects of it too during the scene outside the hospital right after.
Yeah, in the VR games is a tenth of what would you normally feel.
This episode hurts even more knowing it's gonna be at least A YEAR before the next one.
Because man the writing and acting in this elevated it to an even higher standard then before.
Wait is that confirmed?
@@theduckgoesmoo if it isn’t coming then I’ma be so sad
@theduckgoesmoo yeah.
Abridged series usually take about a year for each episode.
DBZA sometimes took 15 months for an episode because they raised the standard and the quality as they get popular.
@@North862I think they got through like 2/3 of the first season at a faster pace. But they're a very small team and most probably not doing editing of animation to fit new lines and gags, as well as dialogue editing. So I can get why it's usually so slow and SAO is probably not as big of a push as it was at the very beginning.

Man that last scene was so cool. Especially since Kirito only became someone who fought tooth and nail for his friends and things he cares about BECAUSE OF SAO but from Sugu’s perspective he was just a shut in laze that one day started fighting tooth and nail for something he cared about. Leading her to believe he didn’t ever care about her. In Kiritos pov he just changed hobbies and suddenly his sister started bullying him and calling him a shut in dork with no life leading him to further push her away since he actually enjoyed video games. This is actually much like the fight against Kaiaba where he and Kiri once could relate and if Kiri met him earlier on he would be on board with staying in the game and make fun of the other trapped people with Kaiaba. Only through Asuna, Tiff, Klein, Yui, and others did Kirito fight for the people of SAO. Kaiaba missed his character arc and met a different man. Same with Sugu, she too missed Kirito’s character arc and is mixing old him with new him. It’s amazing writing and shows off SW’s amazing talent from all side (art, writing, editing, voice acting) truly the most abridged to ever.
And it leads me to believe that SAO 2 (gungale) will involve Sinon as a reflection of who Kirito was back at the beginning of a series. A snarky borderline sociopathic loser using their video game skills to hide the pain they actually are going through. She’ll be like a dark reflection of his former self that he has to learn to get along with and help. Atleast that’s my prediction it could be something else though since there’s a lot of directions gungale could have gone without becoming…that
I dont remember went but in SAO abridged, there’s this specific throw away line where Kirito said he has asthma, further proofing that he quit kendo for a valid reason, it’s just that he didnt communicate this fact well with Suguha, leading to this whole debacle
@@theTequilaMan You don't remember when? It was this episode, dude! During his self-depreciating monologue while his avatar is dead.
@@devonm042690 well shit 🤣 i really do have dementia or something
@@theTequilaMan
I didn’t realize that! Omg that’s also a really good reason why he quit and honestly why would you stop to tell someone your reasons for not doing a hobby you don’t like when they garage you and make you feel like trash for liking a different hobby
I love that we got an ending to this episode that actually left us feeling sorry for both Kazuto and Suguha, rather than feeling just... ew.
Kirito’s speech having asthma being one of his insecurities would help explain why he quit kendo. Health issues. That’s an added example of the poor communication issues that their family had and why the siblings have had a falling out. At least in kirito side, he assumed Suguha knew why he had to quit and though she was being extra in Kendo as a flaunt of her good health rather than a motivator to come back and cause him to be an ass too
The reason Kirito doesn't react to Leafa calling him her brother, imo, is because he called Lizbeth Sachi out of PTSD and probably assumed she just did something similar. It would explain why his reaction is to say "I'm not gonna pretend to know what you're going through, take all the time you need", finally giving her some empathy
No. The tone of the "Yeah no... that`s rough." he gives afterward implies he was tuning her out. He didn`t react because he literally didn`t care enough to pay attention.
Another thing to keep in mind... If you watch the show again. You'll notice the ENTIRE ARC she's been referring to him as "bro" alot, even before she knew it was her actual brother. So he likely is both tuning it out *and* doesn't think it's weird because he's been trained to assume that's just what she calls him (on accident).
Bet he's gonna take a whole new meaning though
As someone who came from a VERY emotionally distant family, where everyone was not loving each other and caring for one another, but completely ignoring each other at best and at each other's throats at worst, the final scene between Kazuto and Suguha gutted me completely.
I was not prepared for not only the relatability, but the completely raw and unadulterated voice acting performances of both Lennon and Yamato.
Absolutely a banger episode. Hats off to the SWE team yet again. We await their next masterpiece.
You missed the Shoji callback, Shoji is the one who she terrorizes
Oh yeah lol
"Yeah taking it pretty hard on Shoji. Is he in today?"
I’m still not used to the fact that Shoji was a slug the whole time…I can’t wrap my head around Asuna beating up a slug on a regular basis
@@WorldWeave correction she was mutilating and eating a slug
He kinda deserves it though. Shoji seems like an asshole.
Such a better story than the original's : "I found out you're not my brother, but my cousin so now I'm in love with you for some reason" plot line.
That's....nooooo did the original really go there?
@@Blaze1990sp The original story's sibling conflict was Kirito's sister falling in love with him and then trying to transfer those feelings to his in game persona upon realizing that Kazuto didn't like her. The fight at the end of this episode was her finding out that Kirito and Kazuto were the same person. All of the personal conflict in the second season between Kirito and his sister was one-sided, incestual, romantic feelings on the part of his sibling/cousin. There's a very good reason that people think the abridged pulls SAO out of the garbage because that anime was a fucking dumpster fire.
I mean culturally, that subplot is fine in Japan but it is really uncomfortable for countries like the US where first cousins are off-limits (excluding Alabama obviously 😂)
@@zanbarlee6190 Yeah, Reiki's original story had it that Kazuto was adopted into Suguha's family (a distant cousin) when his parents died. Suguha's family (particularly the grandfather) has a Kendo Dojo and was grooming Kazuto as the heir. (This is where the abridged is similar to the story) But when Kazuto found out he was adopted he also became a NEET, and as he was sorting out his feelings it was when he was introduced to computers by their mother. He eventually came out of his stupor and started living his life again.
Also IIRC Fun Fact, While their Mother is a Successful Computer Analyst, their Father is a Robotics Expert.
@@ryapowa Sweet Home Japan I guess lol
Man that ending really makes an earlier conversation between Kirito and "Leefa" hit harder.
Kirito: That's just it...I didn't DO anything!
Leefa: *mumbles* you ever think that maybe that was the problem.
.....right in the feels
This 'Abridged series' is an absolute master class in writing. Yes they have the benefit of hindsight and the ability to remove what people hated about the original, but its not like thats all they're doing with it. The new material they put in its place is so heavy hitting on all the entire emotional spectrum.
Credit where credit is due, Kendo subplot is canon
I feel like you shouldn't need hindsight to write something better than Suguha's brother lover arc.
“Remember when this was a comedy?” That’s the point here. When everything is all laughs and jokes, the genuinely serious moments stand out all the more.
5:14 - Sugo: What? | Youi: What? | Kyle: WHAT?!

@@theduckgoesmoo the eyes are what really sell that what joke lmao
The whole molesting bit is actually what the slugs did in the actual anime
I vaguely remember that but I try to skim this arc 😅
The way they referenced it with the quick lie of molesting her to cover up nearly releasing her, and that disgusted reaction from the other guy is pretty hilarious.
@@Jaker788 Ye
A thing that I only caught watching the episode this second time was that when she was talking about "not fighting his mom at all" on changing from kendo to coding was probably around the time that his asthma was either diagnosed or worsening. It's most likely that he just never let Sugou know about his condition because she looked up to him, or he just didn't want her to know. I've been in a similar situation, where a breathing condition has kept me from being able to do stuff, and I don't know if it would be the same for him, but I just avoided instances where those kinds of activities were present. So to that extent, I can sort of understand avoiding that conversation with his sister, as at least out of the gate, I didn't really want too many people knowing about it.
To explain: at 13:37 Kyle mentions his son’s christening it’s basically like a baptism for children
This really hits home that for all intents and purposes, Kirito and Suguha are kids. Their issues is ultimately petty to adults, but for kids like them, it’s not petty at all and really is a major deal.
Also, something that Kirito mentioned in the past is that their parents are never at home. Which makes it even more difficult for them, since they don't have someone to give them advice or you know ask them if anything is alright? I don't think that this is their intentions though
13:41 the trick to christening a baby is to swing the champagne bottle at the perfect angle. If you're off by a little bit, you just get a dull thud.
I’m going to hope that’s a joke lol
@theduckgoesmoo of course, lol. Christening doesn't use champagne. Nails and 2x4s though...
If the bottle doesn't break it's a bad omen too. Better make sure it breaks or your son is a dud, swing hard.
I absolutely love how Something Witty managed to turn what was possibly the worst part of SAO into something so gut wrenching and heartfelt. Truly incredible.
That ending scene was honestly so much better than the love confession from the original. Really glad they erased that whole plot line in the abridge series.
Also, for the "slug-abuse" dialogue, that's pretty much what had happened in the original. SWE was most likely pointing out how messed up the original version was.
16:04 he said Foie Gras. It’s a specialty food product made of the liver of a duck or goose. Farquad however, was hilarious!!
11:00 - 11:09 why am I a slug?!
I thought you were a duck
His real name is Kyle.
It's amazing how they whent from Kandy Kane Kapital and Squeekers death to full on THIS in the spann of onely two episodes.
So they have a 4hr Behind the Scenes Stream VOD for this episode and during it, they mentioned a joke that unfortunately had to be cut because there was no appropriate footage for Suguha/Leafa. Instead of "Press X to proclaim glory", it was going to be a riddle that Kirito was going to just breeze past. So when Leafa rescues him, he'll wonder how she got past the riddle and there would be a flashback to:
Door: What has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon and 3 legs in the evening
Leafa: Giraffe
Door: Incorrect
Leafa: No, it's a giraffe. You can't trick me, man.
Door: Correct
Leafa: Told you it was a giraffe
that last line will never not get me.
"just leave me alone. you've had enough practice."
Just to let you know, in the anime < Kirito and his sister are actually Cousins (which in Japan are allowed to marry) and this whole episode was about his sister giving up his crush on her brother as she was following in love with Kirito in game, and the end was her finding out he was her brother and her confessing her love for him.
Suguhas voice acting in this. Holy ***k. My heart. I felt it to my core.
This is by far the best "abridged" parody series I've seen so far and I love it! But I recommend also checking out "How To Be an Adventurer." It's another parody series that's almost as funny as this, though the writing isn't as good.
"Golly, I would be so much better at crime" - Asuna
Happy Birthday Kirby!! Hope you have fun celebrating. This episode is a prime example of how good SWE is at story writing. The voice acting, especially Suguha's, is top notch. She needs an Emmy for that last scene. Them replacing the incest theme with siblings that grew distant due to not communicating was one of the best things about the fairy dance arc so far. The other was them making sure that Asuna doesn't turn into a cliche damsel in distress. She's a warrior demon and Kirito knows it and loves her anyway!! Yui is an amazing spawn of both their personalities and that makes the interaction funnier.
If you did not notice, Kirito's reason he quit kendo was probably due to asthma, but ue hid it from suguha not to appear weak
Nothing was resolved and it was allowed to fester to the point of it being so toxic
This is negligence on all sides nobody trying to fix it in fact the uncle made it worsen. All was avoidable yet this is the result
they're really going above and beyond to give us the sao we deserved.
the quality!
Something Whitty has made the sister>love brother troupe into a family sibling relationship. This one had me laughing and sad at the same time, good job on the production. Now we have three more years before the end!...
Man, I been waiting for this.
Also, anyone else notice kirb all of a sudden go from _rawr xd uwu_ to _sexy librarian_ with the color change?
it happens lol😅
this had has to be one of the meaner cliffhanger. we will be waiting for this to resolve for a whole fucking year now.
ayyyyyy, it's a happy birthday for Kirby!
As for this episode... fffffffffffffffuckin yikes, the feels. This series will never NOT inspire me in my writing. Absolutely fantastic. Let's just go down the list of how good the writing is:
-They set up Shoji back in episode 15 with how hard Asuna goes with him.
-"That's just the plot of The Lake House!" Suguha makes movie references to tie her closer to her brother; a common habit is an S-tier writing shortcut to good relations.
-"I'm the worst..." Suguha kept accusing Kirito of GROPING Asuna all that time in episode 13. Seeing him be gentle is what really broke her, as a result.
-Yui already said she hacked Suguha's AMUsphere, "as well as a few other things." SHE LITERALLY HACKED SUGUHA, confirmed in this episode. Meaning SHE CAN BE THE ROBOT BODY THAT KIRITO PROMISED IN EPISODE 11.
-"I was just... mmmmmmolesting her..." That's what happened in the original scene. They took the worst scene in SAO and turned it into brilliance.
-Suguha called Kirito a "butt-fucking quitter" in episode 14, out of seemingly nowhere. NOT NOWHERE ANYMORE, HUH.
-Suguha had to talk Yui out of letting Kirito get hurt, when just last episode Yui had to convince Suguha to actually back Kirito up against those Salamanders.
Then just... character writing. That last conversation. I can't even begin.
Masterpiece. Have a good one, Kyle.
I didn't notice Leafa convincing Yui out of letting Kirito getting hurt compared to before. It really was that long ago huh?
They molested her in the original scene? Bruh i literally skipped the episode in a rewatch because i thought i knew what happened like whhhattt
@@dr.horrificlee7018 yeah... the Alfheim arc is... it's probably the lowest point of the entire franchise. And that's saying something. Makes what Something Witty pulled off here all the more incredible, though!
Actually, the "a few other things" was a reference to a line they cut for time, where Yui threatened to read Suguha's diary. I don't think they're suggesting Yui body hopped into Suguha though...
@@dr.horrificlee7018 Yup, tentacle-rape style… the original scene is disgusting. I LOVE how they changed it!

I WAITED SO FUKING LONG FOR THIS THE EPISODE TO FINALLY COME OUT AND FOR YOU GUYS TO WATCH IT thank you
Also Happy birthday Kirby
its on patreon as well
There are at least two cosplays we need to see Kirby do.
Abridged Asuna cosplay and then a cosplay of Rias Gremory from High School DxD.
Learning that Kirby just turned 21 has made me feel a decade older
I feel so old
It's funny because now that I know I'm slightly older than Kirby I knew so many of the things Kyle said like floppy disk and tapes, but she didn't 😂 (Also Happy Belated Birthday to Kirby)
This episode of SAO abridged covered a few controversial elements in the original anime. In the original series, Sugoha developes a crush for Kirito and it's revealed that they're actually cousins (because that clearly makes everything better), and Asuna gets raped (or at the very least, sexually assaulted) by the slug folk. SWE were debating on how they were going to cover this part of the show, and as you can see, they hit it out of the park.
12:50 Never thought the words "nom nom" could sound so threatening...
Kirito hit the ground so hard because he's never been taught to land. This is a call back to when he and Leafa flew to the city together after they first met.
Kirito likely ran out of Flying Energy because of using it all up trying to glitch the wall, this lead to him running out before reaching the ground to recharge. That or it was a joke about Kirito not learning to land yet.
Kirito also likely missed out on 2 years of internet lingo such as Cake meaning her butt.
Suguha reacted like she definitely didn't expect the arrow to hurt so bad, remember this is a children's game.
Likely that "Say no to drugs" Update was an effort to stop players from abusing hallucinogenic plants and insect bites (likely to make combat and exploration harder) to simulate a high, likely leading to bugs as the system resources are being used up by it. Of course there may have been more into that update but they started talking over Goofy explaining it.
The Update likely came with some Hidden new Features, including possible Pain increases to those attempting the World Tree as Sugo knew Kirito was likely going to attempt it. Remember, character death is likely permanent since Queen Suckya had to use a Diamond to revive his old character after Kirito killed them. That would mean Kirito would lose his stats from SAO that carried over because Alfheim was built on the bones of it.
Also remember that kirito got high in Sao by eating plants off the ground. So if the game is built on the bones of Sao, there are going to be players that are abusing that using up resources which lead to other bugs in the game.
theduckgoesmoo is the living embodiment of "Use the force, Harry!" - Gandalf meme.
Original: A really weird cringey romance plot between two relatives.
Abridged: A realistic depiction of two siblings going through a difficult time in their family relationship, realizing together that the sibling bond they once had is gone and that it feels impossible to repair due to the attitude and resentment they felt they both shared against one another.
12:47 kirby and shoji make the exact same noise unprompted 😂
Also *whispers* no one tell them that they are cousins and suguha had some serious feelings for kazuto.
They are in the original. In abridged they're actually siblings and there's no incest bs.
@@Sam-gs8iw i mean, im not sure id roll with the psudo-incest story thread if i had to write a abridged.

"Christening, is that a boat?"
I really shouldn't be surprised at this point...
I once said that Asuna is essentially like an eldritch honey badger. I feel like that still holds up.
I just have to say that this and the dbz abridged series are the reason I found yall and I love it and don't regret following such amazing people thank you for all you do!!!!
firstly happy birthday Kirby, secondly kirto isnt trying to interupt the wedding is he knows theres no chance sugou doesnt have his own security that would kick him out so hes trying to get asuna out so she can stop the wedding. asuna is trying so hard to get out not just because shes been kidnapped but because the in games effect from high charisma basically means you have instantaneous brain washing where ever you go so hes been trying to find a way to program people to follow orders like they are a mindlesss machine. sugou compared it to stepford wives crossed with hard core porn
That last bit at the end with the sister venting was amazing. The voice actor did the best job possible on interpretation of the scene and execution. Also shout-out to the recording setup so she could actually scream like that and not clip, and good compression so the volume is fairly normalized/same. A bad setup with her acting would've clipped and sound bad when she yelled, forcing her to do those awful fake screams.
Kirito trying to go in again just with sugu despite that being an obvious zero brainer reminds me of the whole "group up and hit it till it dies" *ahem* strat that SAO players developed, wonder if the price he pays for becoming less of a sociopath is his gaming skills and genius, also, I have to say, you know character development is huge when you go back to watch EP 4 and listen again to the whole "my numbers are bigger than yours" monologue and it feels soooo out of character for kirito to say, like, am unable to imagine him saying a similar thing now, holy shit
im SO HAPPY how they changed up the plot from the original. Jesus it makes so much more sense and none of it gives creepy or uncomfortable vibes. So glad you guys reacted to this! Have a great life everyone!
btw in case you didn't know, the original had Asuna get molested by the tentacle slugs and sugu was mad at kazuto because of a love triangle bs. yeah its weird.
Yup. They did a good job white washing that away. So maybe there’s hope for the one later on towards the end…which is arguably worse.
First off happy birthday Kirby, secondly @19:00 Kirito can’t just show up at the wedding because by that point Asuna would be brainwashed, @14:48 Yeah Sugoa called Kirito brother in the inn except he wasn’t paying attention so he didn’t hear her, but given the end of the episode it would seem Kirito never paid attention to Sugoa. Don’t feel too bad for Shoji, he was taking a a disabled woman’s medicated yogurt which had her name on it. @18:40 YESSS with Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek from 1997. @13:41 No a christening is, no you know what just look it up.
The yoghurt didn’t have her name on it. He was aware that it was hers though when he took it.
god you can feel the raw fucking emotion in that last argument. i've had fights that raw before they're not fun.
I think they did a great job turning the fairly incestuous side bit into something a tad more heart piercing and meaningful.
SWE for the win.
This one hit me like a truck. I mean, I'm both of them. I got into games as a toddler because my dad and older brother were playing Diablo 2 and N64, and the golden years were him and I playing WoW for years together. And then he went off to college and basically dedicated his life to working harder. So he graduated on the Dean's List, but he and I had basically nothing in common by the end. We used to talk about anime and manga, but he doesn't even make time for that anymore. He's preparing or already has proposed to a girl I know is slowly wringing the life out of him, and he won't even talk to me about it. In six months, his only contact was to confirm our mother's birthday.
And yet, I understand how Kirito feels, too, to an extent. Your best memories of your past are in games, so you follow that path even as it consumes you. He and I both escaped into games for something more entertaining and less stressful than dealing with other people, and it crippled us. And when someone like Suguha who sees it from the outside, it looks a hell of a lot like abandoning your past for a different future, which hurts us parts of the past like we're some tumor to be removed. In his situation, Kirito can't win in any way for the first time because he can't even avoid what he did to his sister without running away because he knows she's right.
May your birthday wishes all come true and you have many great memories to last a lifetime!
18:50
He hit the ground so hard because he never learned how to land
29:08 See, aren't you glad you watched Sao Abridged 17 now?~
21:47 how every Grunt veteran feels when thinking about their time in the military.
ya know mentioning Kirby's bday (happy bday btw) it just reminds me how confusing America can be
you can legally dance naked for strangers for money while they get plastered off their ass
but god forbid ya touch a drop of booze while doing it
Welcome to America baby ~~
Okay… holy bells, Kirby, that hair and that shirt/dress are AMAZING on you. You look ready to go out and rock the best look at some gala… meanwhile Duck in the usual tanktop fashion X-p lol. Glad you both seem a bit more rested and feeling good though!
Haha it gets really hot in my room while recording, you can’t see how much I’m sweating lol
It always caught me when Kirito flat out missed the "your the worst brother" prt
The reason he hit the ground so hard is because he has not yet learned how to land.
26:16 the moment you ask my thoughts, more real than you'd expect. That end made this, for me, this best episode yet.
Shoji is like the one specific employee that Asuna seems to really torment
So finally meet him is great, not to mention he’s an asshole is also great because it justifies everything Asuna does
I love how they completely changed the whole Alabama concept.
"I don't know. I've never seen Star Trek." You ALMOST had me.
Hippie birf day
Make sure you open the fan package before the helluva boss episode drops lol
Shoji does in fact deserve everything Asuna does to him
Friendly reminder that Kirito is an actual (somewhat healing) sociopath. He genuinely believes that if his friends, the people who kept supporting him, don't see a benefit in being around him, he loses his worth and they'll move on because that's how he used to treat people. He truly believes that if he fails to save Asuna, Tiff, Klein, Liz, etc will all see him as the glorious failure. He genuinely believes that winning or losing in a video game decides his future because, surprise surprise, he has severe PTSD.
Happy Birthday Kirby. You both are soo amazing. You both make my week with your vids
Yoo im so glad ya'll are reacting to this one. happy birthday kirby!
Just like Takahata101 from DBZA said, when making adbrided you either end on funny or serious.
This episode shows again why SAOA is not, like every other good Abridged series, merely a funnier version of the story, but is in fact a BETTER STORY overall.
Also, as someone who: 1) Was actually slive when Star Wars Episode 1 first came out, 2) Was old enough to watch the film, understand it, and engage in the wider discourse when it came out, and 3) Was completely ambivalent about Jar Jar Binks, I can assure you the Jar Jar was ABSOLUTELY DESPISED when the movie came out. While attitudes have softened since then, he was not even remotely loved by any significant portion of the fambase, and yes, accusations of him being racist was a core criticism back then as well.
Happy 21st Birthday, Kirby!
I, too, wanted the laughs, but instead, this episode gave me a bitter reminder of my own family issues I had growing up. Holy crap, do I relate to this, and it's just an anime parody... Genius writing and ppwerful voice acting. Now we wait another year for episode 18.
I was wondering how they were going to spin this scene lol well done 👏
My favorite thing about this abridged is how they turned the weird incest shit into an actual brother and sister relationship
I came here to hear a reaction to “right in my cake”.
Edit: it got a chuckle. I’m pleased by this.
Kirito didn't call those droid "Clankers" now that's a big character development.
Kirby's LEGAL!! Now she can drink and not get in trouble.
"whyd he hit the ground so hard" its a running joke at this point, he dose it all the time now, hes been doing ever sense he first got into the second game too bust out asuna
Jar jar is Ray's actual mother. You can't convince me otherwise.
I love the top Kirby is wearing for this video, it compliments her hair colour as well as her skintone
thank you! i’ve been wearing a lot mor neutrals lately😊
@@kirbysuniverse the shoes though
Still can't believe Kirby is nearly 11 _younger_ than me, not that you'd believe me if we met.
For anyone wondering about an update on 18 (since this is a year old now wtf?) As of 3 days ago, they're about 45% done with editing episode 18 and 80% done with a preview for anime fest
YEEEESSS! I’ve been waiting for you’re video on this!!
Oh, late happy birthday, Kirby.
