Hello! In the end of my day, before I go to sleep, I write a summary of the things that happened to me. I have built this habit and the greatest thing is that I can see that I am making progress day after day.
I've been studying English for the last five years. I admit that in the beginning was harder to not translate before speaking, but as time grew on I felt more confident, so I stopped translating. I try to immerse myself in English as much as I can by watching UA-cam videos, reading, listening to music, and so on. I still keep in touch with native speakers through the Internet, which has really helped me a lot.
I like to listen to music, watch vídeos and movies with subtitles and speak with other people, it does not matter if I was wrong, I learn from my mistakes, and the most important thing is to try to speak it every day at all hours ... Thanks Christina!!!
I am Slovak and I am glad I can listen to Christina, who I understand very well because she speaks slowly, simply and to the point. Thanks very much for the videos.
Hello, i'm a french guy and fortunately during the summer i have english neibours for approximatively one month, and they are really nice people, they help me to improve my english. So thank's to them and thank you Christina for your marvellous videos!
Romain is the perfect partner for your videos, he's so funny and he gets to the point: acting as your student, hahaha! Congrats to both of you. Enjoy your videos soooo much!
Hey there, thank you for the lesson, I'm learning English right now, and in order to train my English muscle, as Christina said , I'm speaking out loud in the same time as the voice in the video, in this case Christina, by reading the subtitles in the video, I hope this tip can be helpful
Awesome. Thanks for great lesson! I didn't use bilingual dictionary to study English. I used to learn this "no translation in your head" technique while I studied for my bachelor degree in English teaching. Since then Ive practiced thinking in English in everything. In addition I draw in my head a picture /image of an object I think or talk about. That's kind like a kid learning a language thru pictures. But I love it.
I'm 13 years old and it's been 2 years or so I've started studying english harder. Before that I would go to an english course and only practise twice a week. But now my english has improved so much and I'm so addicted into learning english that I wish I hadn't had to read books in portuguese, my native language, anyomore. I'd like to find an english partner to practice, rather a native speaker but if you'd like to train english with me, I'll be happy, but I don't know how can I find some way to talk to you.
I have this diary where I usually write down my routine every day and it helps me quite a lot when it comes to improve my general skills in English 😊 XOXO 😚
Actually i graduated from high school and i had no idea about English, then I decide to learn english by my self and watching the tutorial video in UA-cam, and watching movies and series .. step by step and now my language its very good .. and i am looking forward to reach to perfection
Great, congratulations. Deaf people can read what is being said, it lets us improve our knowledge and break down the terrible barrier. This video is really all what we have been waiting for. Thanks a lot!
Hi Christina, I just discovered your channel on UA-cam and I like it. I hope to improve my English muscle with your videos in additional of my company training. Thanks for your good job!

I like the language muscle metaphor. It helps explain how excercising the language "muscle" leads to the automatic use of the given language. I like your body language in this video, and also your use of photo-vignettes.
One of the most problems we have in listening is that we learn the formal English language while the native speakers in daily conversations use the colloquial English
Thanks Chritina for your classes! On October with my wife will go to Canada , and I started to practices my english! I hope to understand something there!
Thanks for all your help. I'm Brazilian and a started to pratice with myself but sometimes i miss someone to pratice with me. The way we lernaed in Brazil dont prepare us to listen how you really speak and we feel lost when listen some people but i'm so happy because I understod everything you sayd. 😊😊😊😊 if I write something wrong, sorry, i'm still learning.
To improve my english hearing; I used to watch TED events or us tv shows like Trevor Noah's or John Oliver's. Whenever I do not understand something, I go to check on google translate to know what it is about.
Actually i'm learning english for almost a year now. And gradually learning all about english language. I read only english books it doesn't matter what the topic or title i just keen to it. Furthermore i read articles, watch english movies, personal vlogs, and i take down notes of some complex words that i just encounter for the first time and trying to find the meaning in the dictionary.😋😅as of now i've still striving to be fluent, and i believe that the time will come i find myself speaking english language effortless and natural.
Hi! I discovered your web site just now!! it's fantastic!! I used to work for an english speaking company and it is true: I was speaking English all day long and when I got home after work I was looking for my words in french.....hahaha. My son learned English playing Nintendo, particularly Zelda....he was 6...today he is 33 and he is easier in English than in French. Most of the time, on Facebook or Emails, we use English instead of French...this is a good way to practice thinking in English. Listening to TV program and series in English is also a must, I think!. Continue your good work! Bye
hii diane nice to meet you.you have been written something important I like the way you are thinking actually I feel julus anyway can you accept my friendship

Hello teacher I'm from Brazil and yours new subscriber.. I engaged in your channel because I've been felt confortable with your clear pronunciation. I'm anxious for new videos. bye
I have watched this video several times since I started my English Journey. I love it because it's true. Just speak speak and speak, we will get used to speaking English.
I started speaking and understanding English only after I created a pronunciation guide by spelling the words in a way I see them in my own language. So, by practicing that a lot I learned how to connect the English sounds with the meaning without thinking hard. Today I have no problem with listening or speaking English any more.
Speak English with Christina Yes, I can. For example, the words "language" or "future" sound like "lêinguidj" and "fiútchâr" in my pronunciation guide. My mother tongue is Portuguese, I'm Brazilian.
joao victor Bertoldi É exatamente isso, depois que você já espera como eles vão dizer, a gente para de sofrer e para de pensar na escrita real do inglês, focando só na pronúncia e no significado.
Adair José yeah actually I do the same in my own language. But I think it's helpful for learning how to pronounce words better. I used this technique for making the words sound more correctly and natively. (P.s I can never pronounce as a native does)
I hv started watching ur videos recently. I can read n write English but I hv a great hesitation in speaking.I liked ur style .Ur way to encourage is fantastic.Thank u.
Here's a teensy little technique i actually use to study regularly. I surf around youtube videos often. Instead of watching videos in korean, my mother-tongue, i search for the videos to my taste which is only in english. This goes the same for my reading habits. I find some books about the things i'm interested in also in english to put myself in english even more!

It's easy to say but hard to make it done ^^ . I saw many English tutor say that " Stop translating when you are speaking". But, for non-native English learners, at the begining they have to translate in their head before speaking, it's really natural . And practice day by day, once they familiar with that, they will be more and more fluent.

hi, I'm from Colombia, I study English so I need to practice it, but my family don't speak English so they can't help me, Anyone want to practice with me? 😉
Hi Cristina. I used to practice English with music. Everyday I choose one or more songs and listen it until I think I understand all the lyrics, then I search in the web and check it. Other way to stop translating from English to Spanish was using only English when I am at work. I have the choice to work in English, Spanish or both, but when I realized that I was not working in "real English", then I decided to talk, write, read and think all in English. These tips helped me to improve my English knowledge
