This becomes a bit sweeter of a deal when you consider that Joe Flowers designed the Terrasaur way before the Garberg was a thing and it was originally only available from semi-custom makers like Fiddleback Forge and Dogwood Custom knives for 5-10 times the price.
Man Im so glad I found this comment. I was watching this channel super recently and couldnt figure out whos name was associated with it. I remember it being all the talk when I was like 15 lol
I bought the Terrasaur as a backup based on this DBK video, and it has become my go-to. I like it nearly as much as my Fallkniven, but at just $47, I don't feel bad abusing it in ways I wouldn't dream of with a $240 knife. If I'm being totally practical, the ability to use a knife as intended instead of being afraid to damage a more beautiful and expensive option makes the Condor a better overall tool. Thanks for the recommendation, boys. Keep up the good work. (Oh, and a quick tip: I originally bought the olive drab version because I wanted to look cool and bush-crafty. I lost it in the woods within 2 days. So my second was the blaze orange. If I lose that, I probably shouldn't be allowed to have knives all.)

@@jb7707 Very tough question. Here’s what I’ve learned from my own use and what’s I’ve been hearing from others. I would say the Jääkäripuukko is the most bombproof - it’s hard for me to imagine it breaking even under extreme abuse. Both the Jääkäripuukko and the Terasaur needed some grinding on the spine to get them sharp enough for my liking. The Garberg plastic sheath that I received was faulty - basically zero retention, so I got an aftermarket leather sheath. The Jääkäripuukko feels like the highest quality knife in pretty much every way, especially the sheath, which is miles ahead of the leather sheath you can get with the garberg. Here’s my conclusion - all 3 knives are awesome. Can’t go wrong with the terasaur if budget is your main concern. The garberg is great, but it didn’t dazzle me, and I’m salty about the sheath. The Jääkäripuukko just feels like the most premium knife, which makes it my favorite.
Had one of these. Condor had sent me one that had a terrible grind, bad heat treat staining, and a very sharp seam in the plastic. That said, I contacted condor and they stood by their product. They sent me a replacement.
I had bought a condor Undertaker and when it came to me the tip was bent like a hook. The only thing they offered me was a refund that could take up to 3 months. The Condor Bushlore has been my knife for maybe the last 10 years. I think I got lucky because there was a batch of bad steel around at that time that got it bad rep. Mine has been *flawless*. Easy to sharpen, keeps it's edge but does pick up rust if you don't keep it clean. I've just picked up a Terrasaur based on this review.

I've had this knife for almost two years now ,Condor CTK1806-7.5, oh man,one problem for me is the grip, the thumb guard literally cuts into the thumb, but the rest✌️👍✌️👍
Only thing pulling me towards spending more on the Garberg is the fact it has a Stainless Steel option unlike the condor...I don't want to have to worry about rust out in the bush.
I'd love to see you guys trying to break a mora bushcraft black. Since it's not full tang but pretty sturdy, it would be nice to see how much it can handle
The Bushcraft Black's tang, is very similar to the Gerber Strongarm with the only difference that the B/Black stops at 4/5 of the length of the handle. It's still better than what most people think as full tang knives nowdays, when they are actually "Skeletonized Tang" knives which is different than what actually a real Full Tang knife is. The cuts inside those skeletonized tang knives, may releave some weight and add to the balance but in the same time they are potential failure points. The most robust desing is the real Full Tang and then it's the style the Strongarm and the Jaakari Puukko come with. Not much different, than the Bushcraft Black's tang! It still has nothing to do, with the way they destroy knives with the Air rifle! Because it's the heat treatment, the thickness of the blade and the grind and then the steel itself, that matter, not the tang inside the handle.
I'm glad I got 2 of these knives! Joe Flowers designed knives are good! I got the Condor Wayfinder and Tops Brakimo by him as well! All are great knives! I love the DBK channel! Thanks for sharing!
I'm sorry to say Mikkie, but I got to handle both the Condor Terrasaur and the Terava Jaakaripuuko (sp) and I have to agree with Maarten about the comfort of the Terava's handle, it is a lot more comfortable to handle than the Condor. I'm not going to knock Condor because I really like their products and have used a Condor Machete for many years. For a budget knife under $100.00US I think it's very hard to beat the Terava but with newer steels hitting the market there are some really cool knives sporting CPM-154, S35VN, S30VN and even CTS-XHP (really hard but brittle I think) entering the market at really low prices. Heck I've even seen a couple Spyderco knives with the same steel as the Rockstead ZDP-189 for under $200.00CAD!! In fact I'm seriously considering a Spyderco Stretch 2 with ZDP-189 steel. It's almost becoming too confusing trying to keep up with and understand where all these Steels line up against each other for edge retention, durability, ease of sharpening and overall performance. Maybe a future episode could look at the available premium and budget steels to see where they all fit. I still like S35VN as an "All-Rounder" Steel but that's just me, I have a Buck 110 pro with S30V and am looking for something over the winter to become my new #1 Bushcraft knife, and I haven't even come close to looking at all the options like PDK and Sleipnir Steel and so on. When you're budgeting around $350US for a knife, or pair of knives it's really tough to choose. Loved the video, take care lads!!
I love these afforable knives. For budget I would choose Morakniv Robust which is sadly currently now available in my Country. Maybe it is about chip shortage... ;-) For more bucks for ligher use I would choose this Condor or the Kansbol. For heavy duty the Jaakaripuukko would be the chosen one. The Garberg a bit expensive.
You guys sold me, I'm going to get one. I have a Garberg and Eldris that I really both like. My favorite is my Jaktkit KNV2. I am anxious to buy the Condor now. The 1095 is awesome.
I have expensive knives but I still like to have a couple beater knives around. I have the Jääkäripuukko 140 and I love it. I've been slowly putting a convex edge on it with stones and it just keeps getting better. I'll go to that knife if I'm doing a real ugly job.
You had me at $40. Have been on the fence about this one for some time. I personally cannot justify high priced knives, to the point that I taught myself how to make knives and will be using Magnacut soon.
@@Timeren2010 Pop’s Knife Supply sells it (and quickly sells out). I have an Even Heat oven coming in soon, it’ll allow me to work on stainless/high grade steels.
@@Timeren2010 Thanks man, it was a rare opportunity being able to order one. If you haven’t already, give 8670 a try, makes for some tough knives. 80crv2 is one of my fav steels. I’ll be focusing on learning A2, I’ll likelier find a jackalope than maga cut at this point.

I have the Condor Terrasaur and I love it, thanks for the great review, all the best 👍🤩👌🇵🇹🇵🇾
You release this nice video just when I was ready to buy the mora garberg. Hard to choose
Love my garberg but ive been intrigued by the terrasaur for a long time. Looking forward to this.
I have expensive knives but I still like to have a couple beater knives around. I have the Jääkäripuukko 140 and I love it. I've been slowly putting a convex edge on it with stones and it just keeps getting better. I'll go to that knife if I'm doing a real ugly job.
Nice wooden spoon. And You guys are great
You had me at $40. Have been on the fence about this one for some time.
I personally cannot justify high priced knives, to the point that I taught myself how to make knives and will be using Magnacut soon.
Where can you buy magnacut, and do you have the setup for heat treating something like that?
@@Timeren2010 Pop’s Knife Supply sells it (and quickly sells out). I have an Even Heat oven coming in soon, it’ll allow me to work on stainless/high grade steels.
@@engelwyre Lucky you:) Have fun, from a fellow knifemaker, who so far have to stick to 80crv2.
So I actually own all three of these budget knives and the condor is my favorite because it’s so cheap and lightweight they are all good but I use the condor more than any fixed blade I own now.
Greetings from a Canadian knife lover! Excellent video!
Love Condor....got me a Condor Garuda Fixed Blade Knife and Condor Bushcraft Parange Machete....love them...something about doing the basics good....next up the Condor Mountain Pass Camp Knife (I've seen your cool review).
What happened, why is the resolution 360? By the way, this is my new favorite knife channel!
youtube happened :p Nobody knows why
Thanks for the review. Amazon got another order.
make a double blind test of feather sticking from cheap to expensive knife. that would be awesome and rule out the bias
The Condor Terrasaur is now out in 14c28n ❤ and a better overall finish
