It’s like being on a job with a couple of friends doing hard and satisfying work. So much positive energy. Reminds me of remodeling my house with my father in law. At the end of the day you’ve told stories, learned something, and have something to show for it that makes life a little better. (Sorry for the sermon!)
It still highlights the gas operatives who broke and removed a section of live sewer rather then relay there pipe correctly and not repair the damage, great job by you just a big justified bill for someone, gas, insurance or home owner.
I don't normally watch any leak/break repairs but really enjoyed this one all the way through. Love the way you describe what you're doing and why and the banter too!
Jem, just seen this vid from 1 year ago. I am AMAZED by your strict attention to correct detail at every stage of this very difficult procedure. Precise detail observed at every moment, and a beautiful finish in the end. Where you get your energy from mate is a mystery to me! Well done Jem... you are certainly not afraid of hard work.
I was convinced you were going to eat one of them lion bars just so you didn't have to come mate.... 🤣 another busy day on unblocks got you out of it though!!!!
Top work lads - good watch too, nice to have something different! Jenny is an absolute ledge to put all that together - must have been a right ball ache bless her. 👏🏻 🙌🏻
Once a drain guy always a drain guy for sure! My pops is 62 and still smashing them road digs and 90 hour weeks so them 'norms'can flush and not have to see it again 😂
Nice to see that the jetters do way more than jetting. Great job, I really enjoyed seeing the whole repair episode. As a suggestion, I think Jenny - that does so much in the background managing calls, preparing and uploading the episodes - should make an appearance for the audience, after all, she is a key part of this organization, without her we would see nothing!
@@jetter2-andy-539 Decent! I work at a desk all day, so seeing stuff like this is mega interesting to me! Good job both, I bet you felt that beer go all the way down when you got home! 😅
Holy crap Jem!!! I don't think I have ever seen you work so hard, it feels good doesn't it!! Excellent video!! At least you had good company!! Well done fellas! Stay safe my friend's.👍🤓👍🤓 Randy.
Another great video. I also had a drain repair caused by British gas. They covered the broken pipe with a roof file before filling over it. They did end up paying for the repair though.
It looked a decent job to me. Always amazing just how mutch water will perculate away underground, seen this many times with water leaks so to be honest I was not surprised that there was no void. Personally I would have used my stihl saw to cut the slab with the dust suppression water pump so a lot less dust.
Though it didn't appear to be as obvious later in the video, some of the earlier footage made it appear that the gas board when they fitted the gas pipe chopped the top out of the soil pipe to allow the gas pipe to pass through. Dirty trick if that was the case... I also thought you were very brave using a disk cutter where you knew there was a gas pipe beneath! I've seen all manner of incorrect and altered installations, where utilities/sevices are much shallower than the law/regulations require that they should be - for example I know of contractors laying fibre ducting in a pavement who hit an 11kV cable with a pneumatic drill, at 3 inches deep. The utility co just said that the cable had been laid much deeper, as per regs, but that subsequent works had made it very shallow. An additional problem with plastic pipes is that you can't detect them before you dig...
In the first video I saw with Joe, which was a relatively newer video, I didn't know that Joe's hair was actually one of the wonders of the world 😂😂 I commented about his lovely hair, then the more videos I watched, I learned how much people already talk about Joe's fantastic hair 😂😂 my husband has really good hair, too, and I've always been afraid to be the one to cut it until the world shut down and he asked me to 😂 now, I still think his hair is absolutely gorgeous but I'm the one styling it for him 😂 good hair is a thing to be proud of!
Boys it's mega important if you're doing any prolonged work with high power gear like breakers and grinders to unreel the extension lead fully, it can get mega hot. I didn't believe it until I had a reel catch fire from running a hoover for a long period. Keep up the tasty work boys, looking good!!
Yeah! A drain repair video ❤️ Just came home from our holiday home. Nice to see I have some videos to catch up on. I hope the weather has cooled off? Great editing Jenny! Edited to add : Oh sure you edited yourself out of the video again 😂
@@jetter3-joe-162 it is ok. Some people like to remain mysterious. I can respect Jenny’s wishes. If she edits it out that is ok. She can do a reveal on her terms. We all know who the queen of Mersey Rod👸 is. Btw don’t tell Jem or it might get inflate his ego. He is fine! 👌🏻 😂 Mrs Jem is lucky!
Drill dowel bars into existing concrete, stops dropping off slab . Recut the concrete straight, and it will get the chips out that U made with the jack hammer, don't put jack hammer near existing edges so they don't chip , very entertaining
Excellent job fellas, but like you mentioned about the knee replacement. This is why it is important to limit the damage with knee pads, make a massive difference in comfort. Sadly there's only so much cartilage and then it's bone on bone before the replacement.
Joe must be the supervisor on the job. Let's the old man do all of the work! Plus, people in England can call Joe when there is jack-hammering! The music in his car must be blasting to exceed ear plugs.🤣🤣🤣 In all good fun, you boys did an excellent job!
I go by many a name mate.... supervisor is just one.... 🤣 in all fairness jem loves his tools just as much as me, so when I offer to take over and he refuses you don't push it. Think I'll have to takeover next time though so people don't think we're letting the "old man" do all the work 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like it was a royal pain the ass to deal with that issue. I'm not a plumber but I've had to do this sort of repairs over the years on different houses I've been at. I bet Jem slept like a baby this night, this sort of a job wears you out. You guys did a great job and hopefully this repair will give the homeowner another fifty-hundred years of reliable flushing. I always enjoy the videos, I'm over in the US so i'm always fascinated by how different things are from over here.
Overall a good job! Always a paint when you have services running across the waste pipe. However that connection from the original clay to PVC is poor, its at least an inch and a half short takes less then a minuet to remeasure and cut a new section of waste pipe, id like to think you agree! Overall that a decent job 👏
one little point Jem. you say about let the saw do the work then stand with your foot in front of the blade, they do skip if the hit something hard and your boot wont stop it other than that nice job keep them coming
Have done a few repair jobs, jemmy those inserts for clay fittings, soak in warm/hot water for 2/3 minutes cover insert ribs with fairy liquid and they will slide in no problem. Top team Alec dairy services

Really liked this vid like seeing the repairs and longer videos
Pleased we have never had any drain issues
I love to see the repair side also.
Love the repair side - was hoping you’d film one - thanks!
Still amazes me that i can sit and watch an hour of 2 lads fixing drains for entertainment but here i am. Keep up the great work lads
It amazes me that I'm watching two poms do this sort of stuff from Australia. They're very professional and entertaining with their banter.

Well done guys great job
And thanks for taking the time to film and edit
Great repair guys, definitely not a good example of so called skilled trades people.
You earned a cold drink that day guys.
Thanks for sharing.

That repair was well worth watching. That damage was possibly done by the gas company many years ago .watching from New Zealand🇳🇿👍👍🥾🥾

"Hmmmm"
