    Very creative idea! I have seen people make spoon carving scores out of a closed end 25mm wrench, but never a ball bearing. Awesome!

    After quenching in oil tempering in an oven around 220 Deg C for 2hr (or less) would make the steel less brittle and may help hold a sharper edge for longer.

    You can make the same thing with a closed end wrench. I've made 3 of the closed style. But now that I've seen that flat style I'm going to have to try and cut a box end wrench and bend it open.

    I love the idea and the tools.
    But you need those for deep hollowing of undercut vases and such.
    Endgrain hollowing.
    Inside surface finishing.
    For regular side-grain wood bowls, I'd stick with the good old set of bowl gouges.

      У Гриши Ганжа позаимствовал....
      Мне тоже нравится эта музыка.
      А вот на счёт крючка, особая благодарность , да и вообще... у Лерыча к инструментам, особый подход, имею в виду изготовление.

    Do you have any problem with catches with these tools? They look interesting and may consider making them I’d they are not prone to catching.

    please explain about the liquid

    • @yoman2854
      @yoman2854 Рік тому +1

      Research how to heat treat steel for beginners . Dipping in liquid cools the steel from red hot and hardens the metal so it will hold a sharp edge. You should also temper, look that up. Good luck

    • @kapilendramohanta9767

      thanks a lot for replying - but what type of liquid -water mobil or any edible oil please sir

    • @MuyoungWorkshop
      @MuyoungWorkshop  Рік тому +1

      I'm sorry for the late reply. I just saw the notification.
      The liquid used is engine oil for cars.
      This is because using water can cause cracks due to rapid cooling of metal.
      And you can also use cooking oil that you use to make food.
      Cool in engine oil or vegetable oil after quenching. And it's good to temper the temperature of 220C for about 2 hours.
      It varies from metal to metal, but it would be good to search for hardening, tempering, and heat treatment.
      I hope it helps you. Thank you.
