The CEO of Volkswagen has to drive a Volkswagen but some years ago, the guy was rumored to drive a Porsche Cayenne with the outer appearance of a VW Touareg. This was possible because both cars shared a lot of the same parts. I really wonder if you could take a Lexus GX550 and give him the outer appearance of a baseline Toyota Land Cruiser.
The men and women on the assembly line do these installs...a headlamp. Or a bumper...in about 60 seconds as the vehicle moves past them...and no mistakes allowed.
Thanks for this video. Does one headlight actually perform better than the other or is it more looks? A distance and illumination test of each one would have been phenomenal.
100% agree. The round ones are too generic, every Defender, G-Wagon, Ineos, Jimny, etc. etc. out there all have near identical round LED lights. Square ones fit with the boxy design of the whole grill / front end much better too.
Nice video❤. May I know if we need to calibrate Acc after replacing the new light? Will the acc sensor be affected when removing the front bumper? Thank you!
Friggin FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for months for someone to show how to get that son of a bitch off! I want to add some led lights on the lower crash bar and this is what I’ve been waiting for. Thank you so much Ed Martin Toyota!
that one is the base model, less features. so its better to buy the top of the line to have everything, and just swap headlights. shouldn't be expensive and you can always sell the old headlights to cover the new headlights expense
I think it depends what generation you grew up with Land Cruisers. As someone who grew up in the 80s/90s, I like the rectangles better, but do dount the circle ones are more iconic
Visit your dealer to reprogram headlights? No thank you. They'll just moan and groan with ignorance-fueled blather, right after exhaling through their lips while rolling their eyes just because you inquired about this mod.
They should just leave it with one circle and one rectangle so it looks like it’s winking at everybody on the highway
Ha. Nice... anf half the price too
😂😂😂😂
It would look like a BMW motorcycle. Haha.
🤦♂️😂
Shame that you had both sets of hardware available and didn't compare the light output between the two.
I ❤ the "classic" look of the round headlights on the LC250.
Yeah, very 40//60/70esque
Thanks for the informative video. I wish it was plug and play. ...but it's nice to know that it is possible.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching

Many parts are shared between GX and LC. Not sure on body parts thought. Guessing sliders, roof rails are

yep
Thanks for the video, this looks tougher than expected, but want those round headlights 😂
thanks! link to the kit in the video description area.
Cool Video, Ed Martin get him a few Ring Lights and you have a true studio.
Noted. Appreciated. We are using microphones now :-/ ... it's a start
Thanks for this video! I’ve dreamed to upgrade the European version. Now it is more feasible
Thank you for sharing. Just re-posting the link on a FB group.😄
@@simonlin4339 thank you very much
Great to know it’s doable. Now I need to see someone do the grill. Our grill are god ugly the vertical slit type.
Thanks for this video. Does one headlight actually perform better than the other or is it more looks? A distance and illumination test of each one would have been phenomenal.
that would be cool, maybe next time we do this mod we can do that!
Could you please go every single bolt and tab? If not now, for future reference in 20 years.
It's a matter of personal taste, but I really dislike the round headlights and prefer the rectangle style.
Although I probably agree with that myself, I think the majority people like the circle better. Maybe it’s nostalgia?

Do you guys have a tutorial on how to program the headlights/clear the code?

My pleasure
great content.
thanks!
What were the part numbers of the rectangle headlights?
In australia we only get the square
Can these parts be used with our models to go round headlights?
I would assume so, but can’t confirm
Very nice. Do you have a kit to swap out Prado 250 frosted rectangular headlights with the clear 3 lens led rectangular headlights?
We don’t.
Good stuff. How much would labor be at dealership for installation?
Did the LEDs not need a heat sync like the square headlight assembly?
Correct, they still have heat sinks, but they’re just a lot smaller
Heck of a project but looks soooo much better
Thanks Cary! Hope all is well!
I have a First Edition with the round lights. Wonder what it costs to make this change?
I am working oin putting the opposite kit together, going from round to rectangle.
Round round round!
I am indifferent personally. Both are great looking
Don't the rectangular ones perform better?
I can't confirm, but I plan to test soon
Can the front grille assembly be dismantled easily into separate parts?
Yes, it can
where are you located? Does it work for 2024 and 2025 LC's?
Yes, works for 2024 and 2025 LC250 (US spec). We are in Noblesville, IN (Indianapolis)
Why not just buy the 1958 LC that comes with it originally?
that one is the base model, less features. so its better to buy the top of the line to have everything, and just swap headlights. shouldn't be expensive and you can always sell the old headlights to cover the new headlights expense
Land Cruiser 2024/2025 mofel year get you a lot more options than a 1958
Parts list please!
@@michaelmo6575 i’ve got all the parts listed in the video comment section for you
@@edmartintoyota8599 thank you!!!
@@edmartintoyota8599you mean the video description not comment section, correct?
Wonder if it works on the Philippine version.
I can't confirm. Sorry
@@edmartintoyota8599 That's ok. In fact, the philippine version actually has rectangular headlamps.
While I like the look paying a dealership to do this would be very expensive
I would expect a few hours at least. Especially the first time.
what does the full conversion retail for , parts only
Iv'e got the parts kit listed in the video description. It's heavily discounted on our parts site.
shouldn't be expensive and you can always sell the old headlights to cover the new headlights expense
idk what Toyota was thinking with the square lights

Same thing they were thinking when they went to turbo 4’s.
Have you never seen an Fj62 my guy. Fj62 is my favorite Land Cruiser other than the 80 series.
Rectangle lights look better 🤷🏽♂️
To each their own, I personally agree with you.
this is like dudes driving 4Runner SR5s with TRD Pro grill
Ha, be nice, lol
Square is better…change my mind

Truth
@@edmartintoyota8599 Nevertheless, thank you for taking the time to show us that this is completely possible!
