I use the Morton system as well and cannot cut a straight line without burring or breaking on a long piece to save my soul I agree that it looks super easy when you do it , of course! Patricia
When you do this video every thing looks so easy but when I do this it breaks with burrs and never breaks straight I never know what I am doing wrong Seems to me I do exactly what you do but no luck Can you shed some light on my problem?
I have the same problem and no one seems to have an answer. Foolishly, I had a taurus 1 that worked beautifully and I gave it away. It never gave me a problem but I had to have the newer one -- so you know the rest. I so wish I had the old one back. Not only the cutting problem, but it spews water so badly you can't see the pattern no matter what, and no, I haven't overwatered it and I have a splash guard. I am very disappointed in this saw to say the lest. I feel I have wasted a lot of money.
I am not clear why you just don't use the Morton square with the ruler already printed with allowance for glass cutter. This is way more work than needed: morton ruller square and stops and I am ready to cut strips in minutes and all the exact same size. Your method does not allow for minor differences cutting manually. Millimeters can mean strip that don't match.
Because I have an older Morton system that does not have the Morton square and ruler that accounts for the glass cutter so this method actually saves me time.
