  • Hi All,
In this video I talk about how momentum king #nvidia pulled back more than 10% on Friday. How that might effect the #nasdaq100 and the market more broadly. I also talk about the bond market, how bonds and the dollar index rolling over is not going to be bullish for much longer. I also cover some of the recent earnings in #MDB and other momo names like #vst #amd and others.

Great video. New investors in NVDA need to understand, like you said, that semi conductors are cyclical, (to the extreme!). I doubt they do and will be very disappointed when this cycle ends. It is not a stock for everyone yet everyone seems to be buying.

@14:05 Eh, I would highly disagree on TSMC standpoint. They just won a $5 billion grant for their US plant. Add to the fact its still pretty cheap compared to all the other semi names in the market.
Also in January through February they reported revenue increase of 9.4 percent compared to 2023.

That's fair, but it was up 56% ytd at one point on friday. This is a 750B dollar company. 5B alone should not move the stock up 100B in a week~. It's still cheap, but it should trade at a discount given 1) its a large holding in EM indexes and in most of them the only none china holding in the top 10 in most indexes, and they all trade at sub 10x earnings. And 2, possibly GeoPol risks. Which I think are overblown, but still need to be priced in. Again, I agree with you broadly, but moving up 250B YTD for a company this well known is somewhat nuts.

@@sleepysol I would have to disagree about the Geo-political stuff. Compared to the NVDA, and AMD names (That they actually manufacture chips for) TSM has not going relatively as parabolic as those names due to the “Geo-political risk” we have people on a particular twitch stream that discuss this in depth, that China wouldn’t come after Taiwan due to 1) Having issues in their own economy. And 2) Taiwanese newly elected government personnel has not mentioned anything about independence from China.

@@sleepysol If you zoom out on the chart from a 1 year standpoint, you will see that even INTC has put out better 1 year returns compared TSMC and even they rely on TSMC for some of their chip manufacturing and are known for having crapco tendencies compared to the other semi names.
