Upe comes from shortening "Virgencita de GuadalUPE" from like the 1800s

Independence day it's not September 18... The day we celebrate independence is September 15
I love this information about my country 😍

Wow, I really loved the way she remembers and thinks of us! Very sweet! I don't think she actually meant 'frogs' as they're really hard to come by. What you do see a lot of, though, are toads, which are gross and nasty. And yeah, "upe" comes from something people in the 1800s used to say as they went from house to house collecting money for their local celebrations for the Virgen de Guadalupe ("a little help for our patroness the virgin of Guadalupe!"). Also, we don't actually "kiss" people on the cheek, we just kind of touch cheeks and "kiss the air", if that makes any sense, meaning you don't actually put your lips on the other person's cheek. Lastly, the pachuco accent is just our version of "ghetto" Spanish. :)

For Costa Rica, there's around a 120km (76 miles) gap between the Atlantic and the pacific and mountains taller than 2370 miles... So that is why it takes forever to travel around the amazing micro-climates

Yes it's a beautiful country, just dont go to the city, SUUUCKS. I can say that, cause I live here.
And yeah IT RAINS pretty hard, Limòn province rain is so crazy.
Guanacaste is so hot dude, Guanacaste, Liberia is so hot.
Food is never spicy. Unless you go to Limón, those guys got good spicy food. And a lot of fish.
Food in costa rica to definitely try:
    -Patacones
    -Ceviche
    -Gallo pinto
    -Cocadas
    -Any Casado (Fish, Steak, Pork)
    - Chifrijo IS THE BEST
    - Ask for Bisteck Encebollado.
-We dont really eat pig feet that much
    -Chicken feet IS GREAT
-Mondongo SUCKS that thing im not even sure what it is, I think is cow rectum. Not sure tho, no one is.

I am Native Costarican living in Florida I am also a USA 🇺🇸 Citizen for 30 years now the flog story made me laugh 😂 did your friend had idea 💡 of how many frogs and alligators etc snakes 🐍 and things I came across here daily here in Florida is lots of swamps so yes 👍 you hear them a lot some days they surround the yard even close to the doors 🚪 in USA 🇺🇸 as well I guess it depends in the person is use to nature 😂. Also Independent day is September 15th not 18th. Now I live in front of the Ocean 🌊 and the only thing I miss is the is the tropical 🌴 palm surfing 🏄‍♀️ or even swimming deep as here shark 🦈 really really waiting for you 😂 but Thank you for your words
