Why should the Kikuyu borrow the name Ngai from Maasai? This narrative is from the British colonists who disliked the Kikuyu because of their refusal to accept the colonialist unlike the Maasai who signed treaties of collaboration.
The name NGAI is an ORIGINAL kikuyu understanding of GOD, which means "the creator who allots to every person their share of inheritance"
The Kikuyu understanding of GOD as one bequests an inheritance is close to the Hebrew understanding one who gives a TESTAMENT or covenant of inheritance.
If the name had been borrowed, it would not have a meaning in Kikuyu language, which is totally different from Maasai.
SO PLEASE DO RESEARCH AND STOP PROPAGATING the narrative of European in Africa.

We are Bantu and we are tribes of the Chosen people. We are not Jews! The first printing press printed the first copies of our Holy Bible in the year 1454. The First bibles were written in Hebrew and Aramaic and there is no J sound in either language. The first printing press was invented by a Jewish man who changed the word Chosen in the book of Revelations to Jew--which is incorrect and the man who created the first printing press was a Jew!

Please, stop giving stories about the Gikuyu. It is not kikuyu. Your pronunciation of what you are talking about is wrong. Let the Gikuyu give their own story. Give us a story about your own people. It will be more interesting.
