My first trip to Hershey Park wa May 1956, wonderful park. It was our 5th grade class trip, toured the OLD Hershey Factory where you were right there amidst the huge vats of chocolate, the women wrapping the Hershey Kisses, putting the little silver string in them. Utterly fascinating. That was THE DAY!!! Loved the park, no admission charge. You paid for each ride individually. Class trip made everything FREE!!!
Wow! have you been to the park recently? if you have, what was it like, seeing all these new advanced rides and innovation in its lands compared to 1956???
Thanks for posting this! I've been searching for some footage of the Gold Nugget which plays a pivotal role in my recent mystery novel, Beneath the Lights. I'll be sharing this on my author page! -Jim Boyer, Author
I went there as a kid around this time. 2:20 "Airplane Rides Hershey Airpark" 3:50 Tip Top: that's one I specifically remember going on. And the ski lift across the park.
Thankyou for the video, brings back memories. That would put me at about 12 years old. I remember the Fun House. We pulled in and parked on a stone driveway and in that area the old small car track was behind us. There was a small bridge and lots of cat fish in the water, then we walked up this hill and there was a little refreshment stand. A cup of soda was 25 cents and i remember that it went up in price from the year before, so maybe it was 15 or 20 cents a cup the year before. Now what does a cup sell for ? I loved the slide ride, you walked many steps to the top and you get an old sack to sit on and down you went. Spent allot of time on that. I remember the zoo and the huge turtles..
Oh how I miss those days at Hershey. Well, not exactly "those " days. I didn't start going there until the 80's . But things have changed so much these days and I miss all that. The factory is gone and no more smell of chocolate in town. Back in the day there were no crowds in the park and it was so nice. One thing I really miss is Tudor Square...the lead up to the park gates/entrance that used to be there with all the shops before entering the park thru the main entrance. I think it's shown at the start of your video. Then after entering it kind of continued and you walked up a set of stairs surrounded by more eateries and shops. All gone! 😥Oh how I miss

Can remember that first Comet ride that clink clink to the top ,then nothing in sight ,but down as you crested the top
I went to Hershey Park years ago (circa 1989/1990 I think)
It is sad to me to realize how much things have changed.
