Demolition of Oahu's controversial 'Stairway to Heaven' paused after judge grants injunction

One of Hawaii's most breathtaking destinations Haiku stairs is safe for now, but for how long? The court of appeals ordered a pause, granting a temporary injunction requested by the group "Friends of Haiku Stairs." The order said the city can't do any demo work, pending further court action.

Yes, Save the Stairs! There are at least 4 alternate routes that can be developed that don't go through the neighborhood. Give managed access a shot to preserve this world class hike. It can be a money maker instead of a money pit for the City. It also has historic significance, having helped win World War II.
