The MDC caravan company have a comparable caravan for significantly less money. A great addition to these reviews would be a comparison to others in the same class, perhaps this van is more expense due to some features?
Okay, May I inquire as the the real reason for going gasless? I mean what is the benefit compared to a gas van? It has a weight penalty, a cost penalty, a penalty on where you can set up camp and a maintenance penalty. I like Legend vans, I just don’t get the “Off Grid” (although whilst you’re shopping you get your gas bottles filled).
That’s me, in the video. A big one is the complexity in gas. Certification and maintenance; there is an argument for the environmental impact for burning gas too and induction does cook quicker especially in wind.
@tvanduyl whilst I can appreciate the thoughts of complexity with gas and maintenance etc., the same goes for an electrical system. They to are complex in their set-up and despite common misconception require similar or more inspections and maintenance. Especially if using the van in an "off road" environment where damage is possible. Lithium batteries do not like impact or water and the results of these can be catastrophic. The alternate weight difference is also quite sizeable, thus being detrimental to the off road (& general towing) ability of the van. I would like to see a comparison between two (as close to identical as possible) vans, one electric one conventional gas. Full comparison of weights, costs, etc. I think that article would be well received by your audience. It might sound as if I'm closed minded, but I'm actually gathering information before purchasing next year. Being an analytical sod, I do go heavily into the bits an bobs. Your reviews are very helpful as such you get the questions 🤔😉
@@petermc165Legend reached out after seeing your comment and added something I hadn’t thought of, weight. Their estimate is a saving of 60-65kg on the Trackline.
I'm pretty sure there are also restrictions on the use of gas in national parks (because of the naked flame) when you have high fire danger days, not that I see how a fixed gas stove is going to cause a fire.
Outrageous prices
