I really liked this video. All the slick videos I saw about azaleas prior to this were more about people flogging their own fertilizers than looking after the plant.
Thanks so much for this. My azaleas are in desperate need of pruning, but I was scared to do it so close to spring. Now I know that I'm not losing much by pruning now.
This is a great video. I'm especially grateful for the part about not worrying too much about missing the window. You made some great points there that nobody else makes. Thanks!
Just moved into a property and the garden is mainly Azaleas and a Rhododendron! So glad that i don't have to worry about pruning wrong, cos some are flowering now, and others have dead heads (been dead heading, but might be doing a bit of pruning after seeing this :D
Thanks Mike!! I got a couple of azaleas from my fam for Mother's Day. They are planted now in a spot where we took out an Oregon berry bush that was out of control from the previous homeowners. I've tried putting hydrangea in two separate times as well as one of those cute "forced" lollipop azalea trees and nothing has survived. I really hope these azaleas make it.
deciduous azaleas are actually very common here in canada. they are more cold hardy than evergreen azaleas so probably half the azaleas at our nurseries are deciduous.
Hi Mike, I was gifted a beautiful pot of azalea, after checking I found it to be multiple plants growing in the same pot, but their root systems are very intertwined. Am I supposed to separate them? If so, how can I do it without hurting the plants? Thank you
hi hunn grt video 1 again hunn keep em rolling. ok i have a problam and need help cant find any videos on ytube abt it. i have just got 3 azaleas they were ok for about 3 weeks but then i woke up 1 morning and all the flowers were dry and brown/ looked like they were burnt but now i dont know wht to do do i just pull of all the dry flowers and how? or should i cut them off but up 2 how much plc plc help me. im really stuck. winks 1 love UK/England
like the straight forward - get to the point thing - but you can do some damage over pruning if you don't know what you are doing. - but them maybe you shouldn't be gardening.
