After being knocked about several times in that first turn, the jockey gave him time to find his stride. Under a patient, well timed ride, he prevailed. Well done 👏 .....Hope it didn't take too much out of him, the Derby is only a few weeks away.
Still not sure what happened at 0:18 ... did Tacitus go into the lane of the 6 horse causing Overdeliver to clip heels and almost spill the jockey? I was almost certain that was the reason the stewarts inquiry was taking so long.
Ignore The Final Time & Final 3F & Last 16th. That Track Was Incredibly Slow & Dull All Day. I am not sold on Tacitus at 10f. Tax? I wish the connections would get a top rider for the derby. Junior Alvarado? When was the last time he won a big race? What Year? Suarez on Joevia is lucky nobody was seriously hurt. Riders like that do not belong in races like this with the reckless riding. Tax too could have come down as he came outward out of the 1 hole. Then again Alvarado has no clue either how to ride big races
I'd like to see the head on view of the stretch drive, it looked like Tacitus leaned on Tax pushing him several paths in toward the rail. Besides the rough start caused by Jovia whose jockey was suspended for careless riding.
Thank you Paco Lopez for your Brilliant performance today at keeneland we took down the pick 5. 4 8 11 13 14/ 9 11/ 4 5 9 / All / 2 6. Party is on tonight papi
@@freetickeys $36 not counting the All leg so probably close to $300. Not that much really to take a chance on getting a price or two in there. Worse case scenario you most likely break even.
Should have suspended Juarez for more than 15 Days for that wreckless ride/start on Joevia. Between that an Tacitus bumping the 6 and sending the 10 way out this race was pretty much Royal Rumble / shitshow.
Last years winner Vino Rosso ran 1.25 seconds faster than Tacitus that equates to 5-6 lengths. Vino had post 18 in the 2018 k.derby rallied for 9th. Pass
maximum security owner Gary west should use this race to show in his lawsuit...the first turn in this race was worse than in the derby and no disqualification...racing stewards didn't even object. would be great ammunition in their lawsuit to prove that rules aren't rules apparently.
This Wood Memorial was dreadful to listen to. It was like hearing a cat scratch a chalkboard. Try to say Tacitus and Tax really fast and over and over. And their slow time didn't exactly lessen the blow.
Actually, the TimeformUSA and Brisnet speed figures for this race were better than the other two big prep races on Saturday. It was just one point lower than Roadster on the Beyer (although I think the Beyer number for Roadster is too high), and the same as the SA Derby on Equibase.

Horse will be overbet due to trouble he had... he beat a claimer and was all out doing it. You really think he could run down a horse like Game Winner your nuts...
traffic trouble in the turn???......nobody disqualified for impeding another horses chance to win like in the derby?..hmmmm. rules are rules remember???
Joevia was DQd from 7th to 11th for this incident and the jockey was suspended 15 days for careless riding. You should learn the facts before you open your mouth and pretend what you are talking about. Maximum Security was rightfully DQ'd for blowing the turn by 4 paths and interfering with numerous horses. You are dumb. End of reply.
Nik Juarez was reckless. He should be suspended for at least a month for putting almost the entire field in danger, and Tax should have been placed last for interference.
You mean Game Winner. Actually, Tacitus is the only horse to achieve a 120 TimeformUS speed rating of all the prep races going back to last year. As of right now, he's just as good as any of the contenders. And what about Omaha Beach, Improbable and Roadster?
@@karaamundson3964 Well yeah, that can be forgotten because there won't be a Smith/Baffert team this year. The fact that he took OB over any of Baffert's horses is enough for me.😉
I bet on Tacitus for the win in the Derby tomorrow in honor of my Dad who loved the Kentucky Derby. Watching this race was wonderful.
Two of my favorites since when! Can’t choose which one to win. OK, l give up, both of my horses came in top two.

Interesting horse. Looked powerful then kinda flattened out. He could have more to give and shouldn't be underestimated.
Still wins after being bumped around. G8 effort and win.
Jose Ortiz is the money man. 👍
He can get a horse messed up pretty good for a top jockey-nothing compared to his brother.
TACITUS OVERCAME BIG TROUBLE.....TO WIN DIFFICULT RACE.....I PICK HIM FOR DERBY...1,2,3....SOMETHING BIG FOR HIM....!!!

I don't know much about races but that looked like an inquiry to me as well.
He should have come down, he destroyed any chance for a couple of horses

He'll, anyone can cash a pick 5 if they include all of the horses.
How much was the ticket and what was the payout?

If you like Tacitus, you should also like Tax. He was right there at the finish even after getting squeezed on the rail.
And the jockey stopped a good 50 metres before the line
Liking the odds on Tax for Belmont
I hit it but all favorites. No big money. Anyone know what the Tri paid? About 20.00?

Between Juarez's break and Tacitus hitting overdeliver the 10 got a pretty raw deal on this ride.

Tacitus is good, but not nearly as impressive as Maximum Security, Game Changer, and Plus Que Parfait.
