I personally think power too soon and the combination of an absent father and coddling mother. If I remember correctly during season one Cersei lies about details of the direwolf attacking Joffrey and he tries to tell her that’s not what happened (even though it would make him look better) to which she say the truth is what you make it. So she was literally teaching him to be a narcissist.
